I have been at Holly House for almost two years. It is ok for the price, the unit I'm in is a newer model. Some of the positives of Holly House are it's location, the fact that it is quiet, and the laundromat is very clean and well kept.
Now to the negatives........
The heat does not function properly! If it hit's below 50 degrees outside you will need to wear multiple layers in your unit. There have been days when my feet were borderline frostbit, which is ridiculous to me. Conversely, in the summer time it sometimes gets very hot in my unit. In the transition period from winter to spring sometimes it can get very uncomfortably hot (I guess they decide to turn on the heat in the spring.....)and no matter what you turn the heat thermometer to it will still be 90 degrees in your unit. There have also been 2 or 3 times when there was no hot water. The maintenance man attributed it to the heating problem
The other negative is the carpet in my unit. It's new and nice looking but it's very cheap quality. When I vacuum it comes up like a dust or something. This makes the carpet look dirty even though I just vacuumed it.
Overall I would say Holly House is a 6 out of 10. Everything is fine for the most part but winters can be VERY annoying and really dampen the experience of what otherwise would be an excellent place to live.
