Rolling Green Apartments
Resident • 2003 - 2005 Recommended
I lived at Rolling Green for 2 years, and I enjoyed my time there very much. The office staff (Mary) and maintenance (Walter) were wonderful and always responded immediately to any concern.

Positives:

The apartment (2br, 1ba) was a comfortable size. The closet situation isn't the best I've seen, but there is 1 walk-in.

With the exception of a very inconsiderate person in another building, the other residents are very friendly and considerate. Lots of families live there, and it's normal to see kids playing outside.

The community itself is very quiet, especially given the close distance to 202 and Germantown Pk. Between apartments, you WILL hear the people above/below you, but frankly that's true of almost everywhere.

There is plenty of parking, even if you have 3 or 4 vehicles to your apartment. Security lights keep the area well-lit at night, and crime seems to be very low in the immediate neighborhood - some people leave their cars unlocked! Having lived in Philly, I will never be that trusting...

Location is good - right off Germantown Pk, 10 minute drive to Plymouth Meeting or King of Prussia.

The community is clean and well-kept. You will see a landscaping crew working fairly often in good weather.

Negatives:

I feel it is expensive for the size. I paid $930 the first year, and $960 the second year. All utilities but electric are included, but my rent was going up to $1000 (why I moved out).

The windows are poorly insulated and drafty. Last winter I had pretty good ice buildup on the inside of the windows from all of the moisture. Even when it isn't that cold, the moisture can be an issue, and I had to stay on top of mold on the window sills.

Like most places, you have to watch for bugs. Thankfully I never saw one roach in 2 years, but I did have silverfish.

The worst thing I dealt with was the hot water. Unless you shower at early/odd hours, expect the water to go from boiling to freezing several times without warning, as other residents turn their water on and off. This is not something that the community can really fix - there is a common water heater for several apartments.

Even given those negatives, I still had a very positive experience at Rolling Green, and would recommend them.
