Beacon Hill Apartments

This was my first apartment when moving to Philadelphia and it was just OK. Nothing great but nothing horrible. My only bad experiences involved the elevator. You are guaranteed to get stuck in it at least once and it's inoperable about 60% of the time. If you live on the 6th floor like I did this is unacceptable. Kitchen in my unit was small and difficult to wash dishes in the sink. Apartment was cold in the winter but OK in the summer. Garbage pick up mornings are very loud if your apartment faces the back side of the building. Other than that I can't think of anything to watch out for. The management company did screw me on my last week by not fixing the elevator in time for me to move out (had to carry everything down the stairs) and also allowed the new tenant to move in a day early, before my lease expired. Basically, decent people until you end your relationship with them. Just FYI:I spoke to a couple of maintenance people who claim the leasing agent makes several promises to get you to sign a lease but doesn't follow through on them. I didn't experience this but I recommend getting everything in writing just in case.
