Kings Manor Apartments
Resident · 2012 - 2014
I would recommend King's Manor, a convenient, secure, and affordable apartment complex near the East Falls Section of Philly. As a two year resident, living there through hurricanes, blizzards, good times and bad, I feel I can leave an honest review. It's convenient. It lays steps away from Queen Lane Station, which runs downtown, and within minutes to a gym, shopping, and I-76. It has street parking, but I never had to travel more than a block or two. It's walking distance to Philly U, Drexel Medical School, and the VA complex on Wissahickon Ave, and short drive to Manayunk, City Ave, and downtown. Be advised, there are no elevators, so if you plan to live on an upper floor, you may need help with your move. There is safe, clean, on-site laundry for a small fee in the form of tokens. Security was never an issue; there are a total of 3 to 4 doors between you and the street. I never had any problems. The area is up and coming, but I would still use caution when walking around at night (as is anywhere in Philly) I would describe the residency as a mix of young professionals, college students, and a few blue collars. All the neighbors are nice, from my experience. The lease signing and move-in was a breeze. This place is affordable, in comparison to the going rates in the community. I was even given a choice of hardwood or carpet when I moved in, which was freshly installed, along with a new coat of paint. The management and maintenance staff were very helpful. My heat went out in the dead of winter one time, and maintenance staff were there the very next morning to install a new thermostat. The landlord is respectful and respects your privacy, and is easy to contact when needed. The inside of my place had a stove and full kitchen, large windows, and a walk in closet. (I believe apartment sizes vary- mine was a one bedroom.) Other than that, the only reason I moved out was because I bought a house in order to provide more room for my pets and future family. Let me know if you have any questions.
