I lived there for about a year and I'm luke warm about my experience. I didn't hate it but it wasn't my favourite. I lived in the older building on an upper floor.
Yes there are bugs and at one point I had a mouse but the exterminator was able to keep it at bay and I went from seeing them every day to once in a while.
My cabinet door broke and it took them about three days to come and fix it. My tub was backing up with water and that took about a week to fix. And even though they say they'll notify you when they are coming to do something in your apartment...they won't. I walked in to my apartment once to the sounds of some random men when they shouted MAINTENANCE! That's how I was notified.
The water is turned off once every couple weeks. No idea why. It just is. And a sign will be posted that it will be off from 10 am to a blank space so basically you have no idea when it will be on again.
My neighbors were perfect. Quiet and older. I rarely saw them and when I did they were so polite. I never felt totally unsafe once I was in the apartment. But outside there was always random people hanging out. It was always a quick shuffle to my place and then I felt better.
Acme is ridiculously close, chestnut hill west stop is literally right on the corner of the street, and parking is usually easy to find unless the Irish center next door is having an event and then you're screwed, just park on Quincy and walk.
All in all I didn't hate it, but it definitely wasn't home.
