Resident 2015 - 2018

Oh Presidential City, how do we love you! Let me count the ways... 1. We have a gorgeous, light-filled space in the biggest apartment I've ever lived in. I lived in NYC for years, and an apartment like this one in NYC would only be for multi-millionaires. I have to pinch myself every day. Our kitchen is state-of-the-art with neat features like two ovens and two small dishwashers, so you can always have a wash going but they aren't big enough that you then miss out on cabinet space. In fact, we have so much cabinet space for our groceries and dishes, we have extra room for things like other appliances or the dog's food and brushes. Everything is away. No clutter. Oh. MY. GOD, you guys. It's amazing to live in a zen space. 2. That brings me to all the closet space. It's just so well-designed. There's a pantry off the kitchen and two closets by the front door. One for coats and one for linen. I love the cute feature of having our washer and dryer in a third closet, and they sing a happy tune while they work. They're brand new and top quality, too. 3. To continue the Disney theme, our view is truly incredible. We can see the whole valley and the hawks wheeling above the skyline. I could just sit and stare at the sunrise on one side and sunset on the other. It leaves you with the most peaceful feeling. 4. If you do get tired of bliss and want to leave your apartment, the amenities are state of the art. I never thought I could fit back into my skinny jeans after having two kids, but I love using the sleek, modern gym with its view of a resort-worthy pool! I'm actually in the best shape of my life, and it's all thanks to living here. Our kids love the pool and playground as well, and they love being around so many other kids. Every time we take a stroll there's always someone around for them to play with. 5. I've only had to call maintenance twice, once to fix a broken door handle and once to fix a heater. They were prompt and fixed the problems with a smile. I love all the staff, too. They always have a smile. Because of my kids, I never have time to chat, but I notice they're always joking around or lending an ear to residents, and I never have to worry about packages being mislaid or stolen as happened sometimes when we lived in a house. 6. I'm surprised by the noise complaints and have to wonder where other people have lived? Maybe not in many apartments before? You'll occasionally hear people if furniture is being moved. We briefly had a new neighbor who really blasted her music, but we spoke to the manager and they politely explained how loud the speakers were to our neighbor. We never heard them again. If I occasionally hear music on a Friday or Saturday and it's not very late, I know that's part of apartment living, and I like the occasional sound of other people being happy, so long as it's not over the top. I've lived here since the beginning and it's never been over the top. I never hear anyone at night, and I sleep like a baby here. 7. Our dog loves it so much better here than in her own lonely yard. Every walk she makes a new friend. There's so much space to walk in the complex and there's now two dog parks as well, and it's also a great place for us to make friends. Everyone soaks in the party atmosphere and has a smile for you. I'm from NYC as I mentioned, and I've met so many people here, which has been great! 8. The only negative thing I can think of, and I'm thinking hard in order to make this review balanced is we moved in while construction was going on, but it's done now and all the parking lots are open! We never have any trouble finding a spot anymore, and it's so exciting to be able to walk to Panera for a coffee or cut across the front lobby straight to the gym, no matter the weather. I also like walking to Target or Chipotle when the weather is nice. Rumor has it there's going to be a great sushi place opening next to the Panera, and that they'll be selling six-packs of beer this summer! Hope to see you by the pool!
