Resident 2012 - 2013

2/26/2013

I wanted to leave a review for my process so far with North Pointe Commons. The first thing I do when I move to an apartment is research it online at apartmentratings.com so I wanted to leave a detailed and HONEST review for anyone looking into moving here! I scheduled an appointment to come view the apartments and I met with the property manager Gina. She was more then friendly and showed me over 10 apartment's throughout the community so that I had an understanding of what the layouts were and what the storage units consisted of.. as well as the laundry facilities. They were extremely helpful with the application process as well as securing me with an apartment since I wasn't moving in right away. Shortly after I had to change my move in date and they were helpful and had no problem switching me out to another apartment for a later date.. to my accomidations on what I wanted and what building I wanted to live in!! I lived out of town and I was able to get pictures of the apartments emailed to me after viewing them and since I work throughout the day Gina was able to contact me via email with quick responses! After moving into the complex I found my apartment to be very clean, new carpets and new dishwasher as promised. I had a couple little problems that maintance came and fixed that day! The apartment complexes are somewhat outdated, very quiet, ALOT of people smoke in the buildings and the hallways and stairwells smell like smoke, I live in the top floor and whoever lives underneath me smokes and in the summer the smoke travels up through the windows.. GROSS! I hear very little from my neighbors which is great. My apartment stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer without any AC on. (E' bills range from $50-$100) The windows in the complex do let some cold air in, I had to seal my own windows with culk for the winter because they were creating so much condensation that BLACK MOLD started to grow in the window seals and tracks. The hallways rarely get cleaned, the carpets are all stained, they really need to do something about it. The storage units in the basement are a little shady and dirty, sometimes damp but I don't store anything valuable down there so its nice to have the option to throw things in it. Laundry facilities are nice, Small washers, dryer rarely drys my clothes with once cycle.. I usually take all my clothes elsewhere. So far I've had a good experience here at NPC, I would recommend this place, just make sure you tour the building you are going to be acutally living in before you sign the lease!
