This is a great apartment close to everything. The staff are extremely courteous and I feel I can bring anything to their attention and it is resolved quickly. The building is well maintained and has all the amenities anyone would need.

    Everyone is extremely friendly and nice. Love living downtown. The front desk staff go above and beyond for you. The dog park is great if you have a dog. The elevators come very quickly also. Maintenance and the management office handle everything very professionally. Great place to live.

      Slow Maintenance is really the only difficult part of living here. Every time I submit a request it takes over a week to get someone to come and usually they don’t even fix the issue unless. It’s very frustrating

        Avoid At All Costs

        The management company was extremely unresponsive to numerous requests to address water damage in the apartment. This went unaddressed for months and progressed to the point where the ceiling was caving in and pieces of drywall were falling down. When at last they had a maintenance worker assess the damage they turned off the water and power without telling me and left my apartment unlocked. This happened 3 times in one week all without any actual progress made to repair the damage or even resolve active water leakage. The management was impossible to reach and never returned any messages left with the administrative assistant in the office. When I moved out early they attempted to charge me a break lease fee and utilities and rent for the month the apartment was uninhabitable. I told them these were undue charges and I would like to discuss further and they never reached out. Now, 18 months later, they are demanding that I pay them more than $2000 in fees despite the fact that I never received notice from them in the last 18 months.           The apartment is clean and well taken care of with beautiful, modern units and great views. It is also a great location with plenty of walkable stores and restaurants. I would definitely recommend the complex.

            Don't move in. They unlock the door and secretly enter your apartment

            TLDR: If you don't want strangers to unlock the door and secretly enter your apartment while you are not at home, DON'T MOVE INTO THIS APARTMENT. I am not joking. The management people from Greystar don't give a ---- about your privacy and security. What happened: This June, a significant water leak occurred from the bathroom ceiling, so I submitted a service ticket to the management company. About three days later, around midnight, a janitor knocked on my door for repairs. It seemed that the issue was with the air conditioner, so he only sealed the leakage with tape and left without fixing the water-damaged ceiling and wallpaper. At this point, I thought it's very inappropriate for them to come for repairs at midnight, but since the water leak had stopped, I didn't complain. The service ticket was then left untouched for over a month. One day, I got home from work and noticed that some of my stuff in my apartment had been moved from their original places.               I’m very happy with my apartment, and the building. It’s gorgeous. Staff is all wonderful as well. We love the little dog park. The package lockers are very convenient, as is the shop area. Neighbors are friendly.

                Everyone is super nice. The people who live here and the staff. The location is perfect between town and the strip district. I’ve never had any noise issues. Compared to other places in the community with what you’re getting at this price point I think it’s great.

                  The Pennsylvanian is the premier downtown Pittsburgh apartment complex. The building has wonderful history which is celebrated by everyone that works there. The location is ideal, the amenities are lovely, and the staff is helpful and kind. This is the best apartment building I have ever resided at.

                    Horrible! I have had no air conditioning since June. I have submitted 5 maintenance requests and NOBODY has responded. There has been NO attempt to repair the issue or even communicate with me. I have submitted 2 emails to the building "maintenance team" and still NOBODY has responded. RIDICULOUS. Horrible management!

                      Poor. Staff will retaliate against you for any maintenance request. Then take pictures of your apartment and give you lease violations for making them preform maintenance. If you have any issues with any apartment call 311 it will direct you to your local housing authority.

                          I was a resident at the Pennsylvanian for two years. During that time, I personally witnessed deplorable conditions and unprofessional and classless management. Firstly, this apartment complex, in my experience, was far from luxurious. Dryer The Pennsylvanian does not even the dryers. This is illegal. They have been cited 3 times and are now being forced to replace all of the dryers in the building. I was coughing and had horrible allergies for the entirety of my time living there. Bugs First and foremost. Upon moving into my apartment I found bugs in the kitchen and in the bedroom closet. Not a very luxurious feeling to feel a bug crawling on you in your sleep. Parking Garage Every day I would come down to my car covered in bird poop, cement, rust water, and bird feathers. Though I sent management and leasing a picture of my car, not one person responded because they simply could care less. Weddings Every weekend there is a wedding. This means strangers walking all over in the hallways, elevators, etc. Security I once witnessed the front desk attendant throw my uber eats on the ground.                             It has been very nice and not noisy. I love the kitchen space and the in unit washer dryer combo has been very helpful! Walkable to many wonderful restaurants and coffee shops. This is a wonderful place for walkability

                              The Pennsylvanian with its history and architectural beauty could be the best, premiere apartment building in downtown Pittsburgh. It isn’t because the owners don’t invest in it and Greystar does not hire and train professional rental office staff. Everyone is going cheap. We have had 35 years experience leasing in 24/7 concierge doormen buildings in midtown Manhattan and the difference is startling. Too bad.

                                The Pennsylvanian has beautiful grounds and a wonderful gym. There is helpful security and valet, and the units themselves are very nice and spacious. There’s also a very helpful area with snacks if you’re in a pinch.

                                  Average at best. The parking garage staff is exceptional. However, my maintenance requests are never fulfilled. I leave feedback on surveys like this and when I am called to ask if my maintenance requests were fulfilled.-- I always say no, but there is never any followup. My laundry room door is hanging off the hinge, my kitchen sink does not drain properly and my dishwasher is not working. I'm moving.

                                    Really didn't have any major issues living here until moving out early for a job in another state. My ledger was at $0 when I moved out, pending final water charges. Now it's over $4000. Despite giving proper notice and having the charge removed previously (with emails to back this up), I was again charged an Insufficient Notice Fee for $2700. When I called to ask about the balance, they told me to call the number listed on the final ledger mailed to me. I told them nothing was ever mailed to me, to which they said because they didn't have a forwarding address (despite me having an email to them with it before moving out). When I asked where the number on the ledger goes, they just said a third-party and insisted that's who I talk to. Previously, I spoke with multiple people in the leasing office about the early move-out process before doing it, and had them breakdown the costs, so whatever this $4000 balance is was never discussed with me at any point during these conversations since I jotted all the numbers down to budget for the move.                                         The apartment complex is a great building with a fantastic location, but maintenance issues are common. Heating and cooling outages are regular occurrences. The staff members are all very friendly, but adequate resources are seemingly not being put into maintaining the building.

                                          Have been very happy living here since 2017 and plan on living here for years to come. The staff very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Love the convenience and location. The bus service is so close and being a non driver this is important to me.

                                            Not totally happy. Much improvement is need is areas previously mentioned. I am embarrassed to have guests visit. Parking should be $125 per month as opposed to $200 per month. Maintenance requests are slow. Notice is not given the day of entry. Business and event holders are treated better than tenants. Resident hallways and elevators are dirty. Dogs get in sane ejects or as residents. I gave allergies.

Extremely unprofessional and rude management who refuse to take responsibility for their shortcomings We did not have proper air conditioning for most of the summer and yet, they are advertising this as a luxury apartment.

                                                Lobby smells as soon as you walk into the elevator area. The vibe market is overpriced to be considered a "convenience" or amenety. We didn't have AC at all until well into June after numerous 90+ degree days. They put packages in a locked room sometimes so if you are late and just want to go to sleep, you are not forced to interact with reception to hike down together to get a package. The address takes you to 2 different entrances depending on map app you use, so getting deliveries is annoying.
