Treetops has been my best luxury apartment yet! This is a top notch place to live with beautiful grounds and most importantly - QUIET! I do not hear my neighbors and there are no loud parties (minus one remote time that I can recall). I have the most beautiful view and sunsets are amazing to see. It is primarily young professionals along with some families with young children and a handful of seniors. Most people keep to themselves. Very safe area. I am heartbroken that I have to leave this place very soon but my new job calls me elsewhere. Kelly was wonderful to work with. I knew not one thing about Chester County before moving here and she sold me on the place! How many leasing consultants would come into work last minute on their day off to show you an apartment?????!!! She always went above and beyond her duties and was extremely responsive to any of my concerns. PROS: - Great maintenance team who replies to requests promptly. Requests can be done via the internet. Snow removal was outstanding! Contracted with plow trucks for parking lot during each weekly snowstorm this past winter. - Spacious apartment - Plush carpet that hides the potential for stains - Fireplace in some units (I adore mine!) - Brand new windows (for which my electric heating costs were low this past winter!) - Windows mask outdoors sounds, easy to open/close, and there were no winter drafts - lots and lots of sunlight - Brand new siding- attractive external appearance that competes with adjacent Gateway apartments - Nice balcony to observe that beautiful view and get some vitamin D - Full-size W/D that are energy efficient (and don't require multiple cycles to dry clothes) - kitchen appliances / garbage disposal work well - updates were made to kitchen in 2011 - Separate room for W/D that hides it from view - Great walk-in closet - Immaculately clean inside (no rodents), no bugs other than occasional spiders/stinkbugs that every place will get from time to time - some of this depends on us tenants too keeping things clean - Free exterminating is available weekly for which I guarantee you will not need to use - Provided with fire extinguisher in each unit- I have never had that in any prior rental - Test individual fire extinguishers annually - false fire alarms never went off in the middle of the night thankfully -- no dogs allowed - cuts down on potential for barking in apartments - Fios equipped - Grocery store (Giant), pizza(Mike's - great!), Asian restaurant (Asuka - awesome!), gas (WaWa), dry cleaner, drugstore (Rite Aid), liquor store, ice cream (Dairy Queen), Catholic Church (Simon and Jude) are all across the street!!!! Can you get more convenient?!?!! - very close drive to great shopping in Exton and KOP CONS: - Rent will definitely be raised for new tenants to pay for extensive renovations (may want to consider renting in the off season for better deals) - water bill is high ($50 monthly for one person) - No microwave (however, these are cheap to buy at Target!) -Fitness room is small - many local gyms around as alternatives. I wen to Planet Fitness in Malvern for $10/month - Buildings are older (1985) - The pipes clang loudly when turning the water on / flushing toilet which could indicate a risk for a burst pipe later on - I don't think there is anything that can be done about that unfortunately and the sound doesn't last long - My heater was not loud like the previous reviewer indicated - no ceiling fans or lights in living room or bedroom - Shower water can turn cold fairly quickly - I'm used to this from growing up - Storage space is lacking - No longer allowed to decorate balcony due to renovations All in all I highly recommend this place to prospective tenants. Everyone may be looking for different things in a living situation, but it was truly a relaxing home to me because of the natural beauty of the grounds and the lack of required upkeep on my part. After living in many dumps I can appreciate hardly having to ever call maintenance for a repair - that is a major perk!
