4 Hawaiian Party Decorations for Your Apartment

Staff Writer · Jun 23, 2011

Hawaii party decorations are essential to creating the illusion of a tropical getaway when throwing a Hawaiian party. When decorating your apartment, you may not have a lot of space, but you should find room for the following decor:

1. Leis

Not only can you hand out leis to all of your guests as they enter your apartment, you can use the leis as Hawaii party decorations around your apartment. Hang them from hooks on the walls or on corners of tables and chairs. If you opt for cheap fake flower or plastic leis, you can even cut the leis so that you can tie them together and make a long garland to hang on a wall.

2. Tiki Torch Candle Holders

If you’re throwing an outdoor party, you can get some actual tiki torch sticks to set the mood, but Hawaii party decorations better suited for inside a small apartment are small and not so dangerous. Purchase tabletop tiki candle holders to give off some of the same Hawaiian atmosphere without taking up a lot of room or requiring a large flame.

3. Inflatable Palm Tree Cooler

Inflatable palm trees are fun Hawaii party decorations that really help set the tropical mood. However, you have to remember that space in an apartment is limited. Purchase an inflatable palm tree cooler so that you can enjoy an inflatable palm tree, but that tree actually serves a useful function. Guests can get their cold drinks from this cooler.

4. Coconut Cups

Serving drinks out of coconut cups (cups made to look like coconuts) is one way to spread your Hawaiian decor throughout the apartment during the party, but you can also fill these cups with candy, nuts and other small snacks and place them on tables and counters. Stick paper umbrellas in the cups as well.
