6 Best Features of Luxury Apartments

Rachael Weiner · Jul 27, 2010

For many people, the appeal of luxury apartments is all of the extra features that are included. While an average moderately-priced apartment can provide all of the comfort and necessities one needs in a living space, luxury apartments go above and beyond expectations. The interior of a luxury apartment is normally much nicer, the appliances are generally newer and the amenities provided in the apartment facility make living there much more comfortable and enjoyable. Here are some of the best features of luxury apartments.

1. A Nicer Kitchen

The downfall to most moderately priced apartments is the kitchen. The appliances, while functional, are many times outdated and the floors, cabinets and countertops are basic at best–unattractive at worst. Luxury apartments are the opposite. They generally have kitchens with granite counter tops and new stainless steel kitchen appliances. Not only that, they almost always provide a dishwasher, which isn’t true of all other apartments. If you enjoy cooking or spend a lot of time entertaining, having a nice kitchen could be a selling point.

2. Bigger Closets

Living in an apartment often means you have to compromise on the amount of closet space you have at your disposal. That’s not the case with luxury apartments. Most have walk in closets (or sizable closets at the very least) in the master bedroom. Finding extra space to store your belongings isn’t as big of an issue in a luxury apartment.

3. A Washer and Dryer

Living in a luxury apartment means kissing those weekly trips to the laundromat goodbye. While it might not seem like a luxury item, a washer and dryer set makes your life easier. Not having to lug your clothes to another location each week and wait for hours to wash and dry it all gives you more time to tend to other things. Having extra time is a luxury. Beyond that, you don’t have to worry about your clothes becoming ruined in the washer or dryer like you do at the laundromat.

4. Pool and Fitness Center

Who doesn’t like having access to a pool? Though it varies from facility to facility, many luxury apartments have a pool for their residents. They also often times have a fitness center. You pay more to live in a luxury apartment, but you’ll cut back on expenses elsewhere, like on a pricey monthly gym membership. Besides that, it makes exercising convenient. No more excuses when the treadmill is just an elevator ride away each day.

5. Interior Details

Luxury apartments are more aesthetically pleasing that moderately price apartments. Expect nicer lighting fixtures, hardwood floors, crown molding, vaulted ceilings, modern bathrooms with beautiful showers and a nicer look overall.

6. Secure Entry

Some luxury apartments have a doorman. Others simply have a secure method of entry, like a key fob or card access. Whatever the method, luxury apartments are typically more secure than other types of apartments. You pay for extra security measures.

The kinds of features offered from one luxury apartment complex to the next varies, but these are some of the best features you’ll find.
