The Smith Building was the first rendition of the DownCity Loft lifestyle. The spaces are clean (all white) with tall ceilings, open floor plans and decent closets. The cabinets are small, few units with dishwashers, and there is no permanent lighting except for the bathroom. The alley entrance is a little sketchy. Overall, the spaces are nice, but beware the lower floors - there is little natural light through the windows. Now that The Met Cafe & Lupo's have moved, there should be a lot less noise in the units on Union Street.
