Resident 2004 - 2005

7/30/2005

After residing in Westbury Park for the past year, I must say that this was nothing special. This was my first apartment out of the house from mom and dad so one might think that anything would suit that person!! HAHA. well not so much. I moved in with two other roommates and it must be said that these apartments arent as big as one might hope. Even the 3 bedroom places are smaller than you would think. There just isnt much space to really move around. So having 3 people in one small apartment and having friends over as well makes for a very cramped and tight feeling. Not fun. Makes you want to scream. Since this is one of the cheaper apartment places in the area, there are mostly younger people living here which means that you can bet on noisy neighbors bumping around at all hours. We have had 3 different sets of upstairs neighbors since we moved in and all of them have been so noisy that complaints have had to be made for all of them. Parking sucks as well. if you come in late at night you might not get a spot right by your unit. some walking might be in store for you. the management we have currently are very nice and very helpful. so much better than the last set of people that were only pretending to be management. anyone remember Sandy??? what a nightmare she was!! talk about a woman who just didnt care about any problems that we ever had!! thank god she's gone! the pool is decent. expect a lot of kids during the summer which means you wont be getting any quiet time!! there is a hot tub but it hardly ever works so dont expect too many times where that thing is actually hot!! most times the pool will be warmer. just shows how great the handymans are. the gym sucks for its very dirty feeling and old and if you dont have a washer and dryer be ready to trek all the way to the front of the complex where you will pay a dollar to wash your clothes and then another dollar to dry them. this may sound cheap to some but it adds up. also if you have a pet be ready to pay a big deposit of at least 300 bucks that you will not get back. that word "deposit" is quite deceiving!!! the only real perk to living in westbury park is that it has a good location. it is just seconds away from a bank, grocery store, gym, fast food places, etc. so unless you are a young college kid who just needs a basic roof over their head, then you can do better. nothing spectacular here. very very mediocre over all.
