Halcyon Apartments at Cross Creek
Resident · 2007 - 2009
Our family lived at Halcyon for almost 3 years. The GOOD: The apartments are huge! we had a 3 bed 2 bath and had plenty of room for company and storage. Over the time we were there we had 3 major (very old) appliances replaced without a problem (just took a few days). Other maintenance issues were handled quickly relative to their urgency. The neighbors are nice and there seems to be a good sense of community. Generally I always felt safe to walk around outside, even at night. And our rent never went up. The BAD: parking is awful. There simply aren't enough spaces, especially when each unit is supposed to have 2 spaces and many have 3 or more vehicles. There were also many cars that were vandalized while we were there. There are no security cameras or gate. It would have been nice to have a playground for small children, but there is none. The windows are so poor, that in the winter they not only sweat on the inside but freeze chunks of ice inches thick! Most people don't pick up their dog's poop. Staff are as reasonable as you are with them. Although we and other residents have had no support or even response from the corporate office when confronted with major issues of the complex. Our experience was ok, but we really weren't keen on the apartment living lifestyle.
