Resident 2011 - 2013

6/14/2013

The neighborhood is terrific. Wide streets, wide sidewalks, close to everything, well kept and beautiful. It's the HOA that makes the place unbearable. Don't move here if you have children. Seriously. I've never seen people more eager and zealous to take a small responsibility more seriously than anyone ever intended. I'm a pastor; I'm not hard to get along with. I see the best in people, to a fault. This review is written honestly from someone who's very balanced. They will write you up for anything- ludicrous things! The last one happened ten minutes ago, which is why I'm on this site. My wife and I are moving. In order to load our truck, we moved our golf cart out from under our carport so we could back our truck in and load it more easily. Pretty standard behavior when you're loading a truck, right? The golf cart must have touched the grass for the time it took us to load the truck- no time at all (it's a small truck). The office sent someone by. We noticed them snooping around, first on their obvious snooper-mobile, and then on foot. Seriously. So my wife called the office and asked, "I noticed you had someone here and I couldn't catch her in time..." (We're moving, after all. With 2 small boys. We have our hands full.) "Oh, yes. That was me. Your golf cart is touching the grass." God forbid. So my wife said, "You know we're moving right? Cuz I told you myself." "Yes, we know." "We moved the cart so we could load the truck. You saw the truck right?" "Yes." "The cart is going right back in the carport when we're done." "Okay, I'll make a notation of that." I'm not joking. This actually happened. 15 minutes ago. These people are crazy. I'm one of those OCD guys that actually likes an HOA. I like order and uniformity and well-maintained lawns and rules about how your place has to look. These guys passed "normal" and "balanced" long ago. Move here if you're retired and don't own anything that goes outside. If you like to grill or have kids who like to play with toys, who might occasionally go outside and come in contact with air or sunshine, or you own a golf cart that occasionally makes contact with blades of grass, find somewhere else. The beauty and serenity isn't worth the HOA's hassle. I've got a golf cart to move.
