This is the worst apartment complex in Hamilton County, but they get away with it because they know their tenants can't afford better. I've been living here for two years now and it just gets worse and worse. Almost all of these things have been mentioned before, but I'll reiterate them:
-The office manager is extremely mean and inconsiderate
-It takes weeks for maintenance staff to fix even the simplest problems
-Many of the apartments have a serious problem with toxic black mold
-Every apartment is severely infested with cockroaches, even those that are kept very clean. They are inside the walls. I have seen spotless apartments that still have roaches everywhere.
-Lookout Pest Control won't do anything to help the pest problem, but will walk into homes without even knocking first
-There is a flea problem even in apartments with no pets. I have one cat who does not go outside and have to treat for fleas every single month, and he's gotten tapeworms several times from the fleas.
-Many apartments have leaks that have gone unfixed for months or years. One of my neighbors complained for a whole year about a leak in his sliding glass door and when toxic black mold started growing above the door, they just told him to move to another apartment, and didn't offer a rent discount or anything for the inconvenience. Look around after any thunderstorm and you'll see that almost everyone has towels shoved against their doors and windows.
-There are some really sketchy neighbors. There's a woman who calls the police on people for the weirdest things. She once called the cops on me because she said I had threatened to kill her dogs. I didn't do any such thing and it was a bizarre thing to say. I've heard she calls the police on other people for noise all the time. There's another guy who hangs out at the playground all the time with little kids even though he doesn't have any kids of his own.
-People don't pick up their dogs' crap.
-There was a brutal rape in E89 (reported by the Times Free Press) and the Chalet didn't notify residents or do anything to improve safety.
-The Chalet neglected electrical problems in the D-building and it burned almost to the ground and the whole building is now condemned, and they haven't offered rent discounts, reassurances, or electrical check-ups on any other buildings in the complex.
-There's not enough parking.
-The dumpsters are overflowing all the time.
-The whole complex smells like cigarettes, mold, and dog poop.
-The managers are constantly butting into people's personal lives and criticizing things like how they parent their kids (eight and nine-year-olds should be allowed to play at the playground within line of sight, without Mommy or Daddy hovering over them) and how they decorate their homes (you should be allowed to grow plants on your own patio whether the managers like them or not).
-People litter their cigarette butts everywhere.
-The dishwashers don't work, and even if they did, there are roaches living in the walls that climb into and on your dishes as soon as you've washed them.
-The rent, while cheaper than average, is still way too high for apartments of this quality.
-The managers leave rude notes on people's doors all the time over the dumbest things.
I'll be satisfied with this complex when the current manager is fired and when the landlords offer a major rent discount to the people who have had to deal with this slum and with her awful attitude. I want to get out of here but can't afford to do so, but even people living in cheap apartments deserve to have basic rights. We should not have to be treated like this. I DO NOT recommend moving here if you can possibly afford to live elsewhere.
