I have lived here at the Reserve at Lakeshore for under 6 months and have had multiple problems. First, the management wanted me to postpone moving with two days notice (my move-in date was scheduled 2 months in advance). It was not possible to postpone since I had scheduled a company to move me from another city. The apartment was not completely ready although they did complete all of the work requests expediently. However, I evidently missed out on several updates and a replaced carpet. Second, within a month of moving into the apartment, they began roofing and deck work without any warning. It would not have been a problem but I am definitely paying for the deck and the view since the apartments are so old and in some disrepair. Also, while they said it would take one week, it took about a month with my deck unusable and my new deck furniture damaged by the workers. The management did give me a restaurant gift certificate for the difficulty and a rent reduction for the damage to my deck furniture. However, they replaced my deck with an older one and the work was shoddy. Third, the water appears to go off periodically. I am not home during the week but notice the sputtering frequently upon returning at night. While off recently, the water went out twice. I pay a fee to them for water every month. Fourth, two stove burners do not work, the paint is peeling in several places, and bugs frequently get into the apartment. One toilet is made from two different toilets--the bowl is white while the tank is beige. Finally, my neighbors are rowdy and noisy. Family arguments into the parking lot are occassional and parties with loud bass music are regular at one residence. The police have been here a couple of times and the residents have been threatening, i.e, beating on walls, cursing, name-calling. I guess I thought at $1000/month, the quality of residents would have been a little classier. I have lived in several apartment and condominium complexes and have always had lovely neighbors. As others have said, the grounds and view are absolutely beautiful, the amenities are very nice, and the the staff are very kind. However, I am afraid the problems do outweigh the benefits in this case especially for the money, at least for this lakefront building. I cannot wait until my lease is complete so I can get out of here.
