I've lived in a one-bedroom here for a little over a year now, and I see no reason to move. I moved here site unseen from another state and was pleasantly surprised at my choice when I got here. The manager is fantastic and so nice and helpful. She is one of the best things about this place! She was extremely helpful in leasing my apartment by phone/mail/fax. The main maintenance man is always friendly and he gets things done as soon as he can. I've never had to wait very long for things to be fixed (I've had no major problems). The rent is cheap for the price, and it is very close to UT, where I work and attend school. There is one laundry room for the whole complex, but I've never had a problem getting an available washer & dryer. I bet if you do your laundry at peak times, like on weekend afternoons, that might be different, though. Laundry is a little expensive - $1.50 for a wash load and $1.50 for a dry load, but you can usually combine two wash loads into one dryer and save money. The downsides are that the hot water doesn't last (like another reviewer said), so it's not always fun to shower in the cooler months, and there are no light fixtures in the living room or bedrooms. You'll need floor lamps for light. Also, there is no central HVAC in the one-bedrooms (there is a wall unit in the living room), so airflow isn't the best in the more extreme months. The floors creak pretty loudly, so I can hear my neighbor walking around, but that's a minor issue. Overall, it's a quiet, nice place to live.
