Resident 2014 - 2019

10/2/2019

Waterford Village is a quiet, beautifully landscaped community with a lot of green space, a dog park, salt water swimming pool, fire pit and grill area. It's located a couple blocks behind Victor Ashe Park, and about a mile from the I-40/I-640/I-75 interstate exchange, so it's central location makes any jaunt around Knoxville especially easy and convenient. UT is a 10 minute drive. West Town Mall is 8 minutes away. Turkey Creek is 20 or less via Ball Camp Pike. Oak Ridge's movie theater with the reclining seats and bun warmers is a 15 minute drive, straight down Western Ave/Oak Ridge Hwy. There are 3 grocery stores within 3 miles of my apartment. The property is nearly 30 years old but the building exteriors and apartment interiors look like they've been well maintained. When I moved here over five years ago, while in undergrad at U.T., the units were fully carpeted, had basic light fixtures, and those mildly unattractive 90s-dated cabinets with the flat beige doors and wood trim on the bottoms. However, all of the units have since been upgraded, and the upgraded unit they offered me upon renewal in 2016 has wood plank flooring throughout, except for carpet in my bedrooms, upgrading lighting fixtures, new counter tops, new white cabinet doors with brushed nickel knobs, and brand new black and stainless appliances. My refrigerator has an ice-maker, y'all!! The apartments are spacious, and much larger in square footage than most of the other properties I have toured. Even though I moved into a ground level "garden" apartment, I have plenty of windows and natural sunlight, such that I've never felt like I'm living in a basement or underground. I occasionally hear my neighbors in the townhouses above me, but is nowhere near the noise-level I've become accustomed to at other apartment communities. All the units have connections for a full-sized Washer & Dryer, and I love that the connections are housed within a louvered-door closet, rather than in the middle of the kitchen or a bathroom. Most of all, I feel safe in this neighborhood. I like knowing there is a courtesy officer on property and on call if needed. I have friendly neighbors and I feel like I'm part of a community where we watch after each other. The maintenance team has over 30 years of industry experience between them, and it shows in their efficient, effective customer service. The office team is professional, friendly, and helpful. They seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs and show care and understanding toward their residents. I love my apartment home and I enjoy living in this community.
