My husband and I lived at Brighton court for 1 1/2 years. From the start, they didn't get my name correct on the lease and never corrected it. We should have known at that point we were in for it. We were on the second floor. Above us we had a semi professional wrestler who rattled my light fixtures loose with his weights and stayed up all night listening to music and watching the 3 stooges. He was rude and had parties that kept us up many a night, but the office never did anything about it. Police were no help either. Below us lived an older couple that turned us in for noise complaints everytime I vacuumed the floor. I realize that in a apartment, you may hear your neighbors from time to time, but you could hear conversations next door and tv clearly. We had problems getting things like a/c and kitchen appliances fixed right and had to request many times for things to be fixed.
My biggest complaint is that according to my lease I had to turn in a 30 day move out notice, so that is what I did. The manager claimed that their policy states 60 day move out notice so they are saying we owe them for breaking our lease and for "damages" that I know weren't there when we moved out. I can't afford a lawyer to fight this and I have been informed that is the only way to get this fixed other than just paying them what they say we owe. That is what we are still doing--paying a lot of money that I do not believe we owe.
Watch it if you want to live here and make sure you keep yourself updated on changes that may affect you, because the management will not inform you.
