I never read these reviews until I was able to purchase a home of my own. I don't know that the internet age has done a whole lot for the American people as a whole when they can be as bold as they wish provided they can remain anonymous. In the three years I've been there- there was no 48hr business about Maintenance arriving! It was most often within the HOUR. I never once paid a fine- there's a no-brainer! Why? Because I read the lease agreement which was written in plain straight forward verbage and I followed the rules. It's true, there have been some issues with utilities such as water lines, etc. But, the complex is a little on the older side and sometimes things rupture or fail. I have worked in industrial maintenance before so I assume I have a tad bit of insight on construction, aged buildings, and safety. Nothing there was substandard or unsafe. Things wear out- that's why we're not all still driving our first cars. I was never dishonest with the staff there, never tried to pull the wool over their eyes, and never tried to rip them off. I think that was appreciated because I never once felt any sense of friction between myself and any of the staff members. One of the "Anonymous" posters said they are cruel towards elderly people- What a joke! Normally I wouldn't even address that, but it does seem to be rather serious accusation worhty of attention. If anyone was mistreated, there's not a doubt in my mind that Adult Protective Services and a whole host of other protective and regulatory agencies would been all over the place. If persons weren't permitted to post anonymously, I think the ratings for most of Amarillo's appartment complexes would be much higher. If a person is honest and stands firm in their views, opinions, and convictions then they shouldn't have to hide behind a shield of anonymity. I would rent there again.
