Resident ā€¢ 2015 - 2018

7/11/2018

Absolutely the worst apartment I've ever been in. I've lived here for three years and since I moved in it's gone down hill and the rent keeps going up. In the past two years, our quiet friendly neighbors have been replaced by one section 8 and her handful of bad kids, a drug dealer that just caught his apartment on fire, and a family that has "family friends" visiting from out of state (all 7 of them in a one bedroom apartment). The management staff does nothing about the issues that we have with the drug dealer and his constant revolving door of people all hours of the night or the constant smell of pot that permeates the walls and now makes our apartment smell. The management staff does nothing about maintenance requests. The entire complex went through renovations on the outside of the buildings last year. In doing that, they removed some of the insulation around all of the windows and never replaced it. Now our windows have a hot draft in the summer and a cold draft in the winter and our electric bill has doubled because of it and it's still miserable. Since the renovations, we haven't had an electric bill lower than $250 and our apartment never gets cooler than 78 in the summer. We've asked multiple times for this to be addressed and they tell us that they'll get the contractors out to look at it and they never do. If it rains, we have to put towels down because of the windows leaking. Again, contractors never come. Our guest bathroom toilet runs constantly and maintenance will come look at it and bend the rubber flapper to fit again. It's a temporary fix but doesn't solve the problem. The management staff failed to notify us that we had a package sitting in the office for nine months. We weren't expecting a package and wouldn't have known about it until we finally did have something come in. They brought it out laughing saying that it's been sitting back there for almost a year.. It actually had dust on it. My son got his birthday gift in July from his grandmother. His birthday is in October. Last year the property was sold to a new management company and in doing so, the contract with the trash company that takes the big compactor away lapsed. So for over a month there was a huge build up of household trash festering in the heat of summer right outside our door. With it came bugs, mice and a whole neighborhood full of cats. Even after a year, there are still a few stray cats milling about. Most of them got run over. Thanks for making me explain that to my little boy. For almost a whole summer there was at least one dead cat somewhere in the parking lot. After finally getting a working contract with the trash company, it took almost two weeks for them to throw all the trash away because the management was too cheap to pay for a second or even a third compactor pick up or a roll-away. The place just isn't worth the price in my book. They look nice on the outside and they'll show you an amazing model apartment, but what you really get is a basic apartment with thin walls that's not efficient at all and a management staff that wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.
