I moved to Austin from a different state, and didn't know anything about where to live. I've lived here almost a year now, and I can't wait to move.
NEGATIVES: Since I moved in about a year ago, the microwave broke, the ceiling leaked creating quite a mess, the maintenance barges in without any explanation of who they are (sort of terrifying as a female), the alarm randomly went off at about 6:30am and wouldn't shut off, my bike got stolen off the second story balcony, my car got broken into, the gate is constantly broken - the fix it sometimes but it has been broken for over a month, the shower bath faucet doesn't work, the dryer that the apartment comes with is horrible - I've taken to air drying things, and the cards that you use to get thought the gate (if you walk rather than drive) have never worked correctly. The gym isn't even a gym - it's like a sketch treadmill and stair stepper with a lame cable weight machine. I pretty much wanted to move the moment I moved in.
As far as roommate matching don't expect to them to pay any attention to the form. I was locked out of the apartment by the deadbolt once, and the apartment staff just laughed. Also, it's pretty irritating that all packages must go through the office.
POSITIVES: The staff are polite, and there is ample available free parking for tenants and guests, furnished is convenient - but be aware that if you have allergies all the furniture is dust mite ridden.
