Please get yourself away from that place. There are so many reason not to leave there except the price is cheap. But please save yourself from harassment form the front office. Please save your lung from dirt air that you breath from the old A/C systems Please save your stomach from the bugs in the kitchen, bathrooms

The first time i came here the staff was so nice and inviding so my husband and i decided to rent.I have been residing here at CopperMill Apartments for 5 months now. We love our apartment.BUUTTTT,ever since the staff was changed it has been nothing but problems. Now its horrible and staff is RUDE!!! Cindy is a a horrible and unprofessional "Manager" to deal with. Gricela has no sense of customer service and YOU CAN'T EVEN UNDERSTAND HALF OF WHAT COMES OUT OF HER MOUTH. Now the new staff(i do believe her name is Neomi)is discustingly RUDE and tries to talk down on residents like myself. I CAN NOT STAND THEM!!! The maintance team is also the worse!they smoke all the time, the work orders never ever get done! You can drown in your apartment and swimm with the roaches and they still dont come!! We cant wait to get out of this HELL HOLE!! SO PLEASE STAY AWAY..... :( :( BEDBUGS ARE YOUR NIGHT LOVERS..

Any way there would be a rent increase every time your lease renews. The management staff show a huge lack of care for your happiness. They'll put on a front of listening to your concerns and writing them down, but I know they promptly forget about my concerns as soon as I leave the office. I was very thorough when I moved in with writing down all the issues that needed fixing in my complex. Over a month later and they still are not fixed. The staff acts all annoyed when you state all the issues you are facing with your apartment. The office staff do not seem to have great communication with each other (if at all) or all be on the same page as far as policies go. One will give you an answer to your question and the next time you bring the issue up for follow through (often times it will be with a different person), they'll tell you that the other worker was wrong and tell you their version of what is right. It takes forever for me and the office staff to understand each other. They turn anything I ask into a difficult conundrum.… See More>

You'd be crazy to live here. Especially if you have kids.

What a joke! The description at jupitercommunities.com is complete false advertising. My family lived there for about 2 years. The place had bedbugs, we were treated like crap for being vocal about problems in the apartment. They took 3 months to fix a serious electrical problem in our second unit. A maintenance man left a crack pipe in our bathroom. We filed a police report, all maintence people were fired but one. Once a maintenance guy unlocked our apartment and walked in without knocking. I was watching tv in my living room in attire that, well. Let's just say I was not dressed for company. I was at home relaxing, what the hell? Another time our rent money order was stolen by an employee and cashed. The manager at the time was terminated soon after, but he told us it was not the first time such an incident occured. We later found out he was terminated for some kind of shenanigans involving the towing company, he was getting a payoff from them supposedly. He was replaced by Deborah Nichols. She is the one who terminated maintenance over the crack pipe. Later she became irate over our… See More>

Take The Good With The Bad

I've been living in Copper Mill since March 2010. I honestly like it for the most part. I love my one bed room apartment. The space is nice and it's close to work. It's right on the Lamar Strip so you have grocery store, a couple shopping squares, and a decent amount of fast food choices. You do have to deal with the extras such as women of the night, drugs, drunks, homeless people and your reliable police sirens every night but in all honest, it's N. Lamar. Dang near everyone knows how N Lamar is and if you move in the area despite that, then that's your own fault and you shouldn't have too much room to complain able the area. Parking and Maintenance does suck however. Not too much you can do about the parking. They recently moved all the Visitor Parking to the far end of the apartments so it allows closer parking for residents but it's a damper when you have guests that visit late or overnight. The visitor parking only allows the guest to park in the spot for a max of 2 hours which is pretty ridiculous. I'm not exactly sure how Visitor Parking is… See More>

                  A more recent review..

I've been here for almost a year. The rent is cheap, so obviously there are a few shortcomings with the fit and finish of the units (cabinet paint uneven from being repainted over and over, bathroom door might take a push for it to close, some various paint splatters/gouges on countertops, etc). The fridge I have is pretty basic, no icemaker, the burners on the stove are never level no matter what you do, and the AC is an old enough to necessitate a huge vent panel right in the middle of the living room wall. Stuff like that. It's not a deal-killer for me, but it's these sorts of things prevent it from being a great property, as opposed to an "ok" one. The apartments themselves have a nice open layout, at least in the one-bedroom unit I'm in. Ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom are a nice touch. Beware though, the ceilings themselves are paper thin, so unless you move into the top floor you will hear your neighbors walking around/showering/singing and God forbid they have kids or are actively trying to make their own because any running or jumping around from them will make your… See More>

Not the Best, but better than what these other people say...

I have been here for about 4 months. My wife loves it. We don't have any problems with security or maintenance. The only thing that I have a problem with is the parents that don't supervise their children and the idiots that think that the parking area is their own make-out area. But everyone is very nice.

                          Don't waste your time here

I landed in this city from some other state and unfortunately for me I needed an apartment ASAP. I came across Copper Mill apartments listed on ForRent.com and it looked to be good one in the pictures. When I visited the apartment, I found the apartment was dilapidated with broken wooden fixtures and dead roaches, crickets. When asked about the state, the management told the fixtures would be taken care of and that the roaches are a common problem in Texas and they frequently fumigate the apartments which should take care of the problem. The laundry room was in pathetic condition with dirt all over the floor and machines. Also, I was skeptical about the safety which made me think for a day before deciding to chance it and move into the apartment, I had no option as I needed an apartment ASAP since my shipment from my previous dwelling was soon to arrive. I paid them the administration fee and after doing all the background check the manager told me I can't move in until next Monday since I haven't yet subscribed for the electricity from Austin electricity board. I was told I can't keep the shipment inside the… See More>

                            WORST POSSIBLE CHOICE!

This complex has no idea how to treat their occupants. We have had the displeasure of living on this property. These are some of the things that have happened while we lived here. 1.Drug dealers are everywhere to be seen. 2.We where harassed and robbed by our neighbor and management did nothing after NUMEROUS complaints that their behavior was escalating. Eventually they moved US to a different apartment while the offenders where allowed to stay where they where. 3.We where re-located beneath a meth cook. 4.An occupant across the hall flashed my child his ----- and yet again, the apartments made no attempt to evict the offending party, or his six room-mares. (From their one bedroom apartment) 5.We where terrorized by a local prostitutes pit bull, and even after my child was bitten the dog, and his working owner where allowed to stay. 6.Horns could be heard all night long, either gentlemen requesting company , or clients in need of drugs, or an alarm going off as a result of a break in. 7.The security cameras are not recording. After our car was broken into we where informed that the camera pointed directly at the car had no viewable footage. DON'T MOVE… See More>

I have been in this complex over a year. In my unit my neighbors upstairs were loud through out the night and insulted the people who walked by, cursed my children just because they asked for them to stop spieling beer over there toys. When i told the management they did nothing about it, so i called the cops several times but they would never open the door. The management still went ahead and renewed there lease despite many complaints they received from other tenants. When the apartment was given to me it was dirty the window of the bedroom was broken. When I went to inform management i was treated like i should have known-ed better. Til this day I'm still waiting to have maintenance come and fix the things that should have been fixed before, the only thing that was fixed was the bedroom window that's because I called the corporate office. The management treat tenant like there some kind of criminal, disrespecting and look at you like your nothing. HE will tell you that everything will be ok when you are trying to get an apartment but once you are in, he won't even pay attention to your complains. ALl these people at the office worry about is to bring in more prostitutes and drug dealers. This place is infested with roaches, drug dealers and prostitutes. Only a desperate person would want to move in to this hell hole. I stayed their for a one year just b/c I didn't want to break my lease but I hated it.

I used to live at Copper Mill in 2007, and I had to relocate to San Antonio. I was moved back to Austin, and found Copper Mill to be much improved! The office staff was very kind and excited, and made my decision to lease there very easy. I see the troubling stories written recently, but the staff advised me that any issues should be reported right away, and they can help me with anything I need. My apartment was in very good shape, but it helped to be able to view it prior to giving my application. I recommend living here to anyone looking to move on North Lamar.

I went to the pool with my husband today and the pool was locked (4pm) and the pool guy comes by half drunk and staggering and said he forgot to open the pool. The management needs to keep an eye on the pool area and put rules in place to ensure safety of their residents. I had a seperate living area from my dining area huge walk in closet and valted celings. The apartment its self is beautiful, So i moved back in 2008 I really dont like that the rent has gone up so much but thats every where. The only complants I have about this apartment complex is the fact i was in the hospital for a week and came home to a towed car that cost me over 400$. The traffic on north Lamar in peak traffic hours is pretty badm, I'm moving because they went up on rent but, I cant find one apartment that has everything I want like Copper Mill, when it comes to floor plans your the best

The property managers say they do background chacks but they don't. They let these black men move in behind me and yesterday they robbed me and my husband at gunpoint. They took all our rent and when we left they managed to come back in. The cameras are poorly placed around the complex so there is nothing of this on video. The back of the complex is called the ------, for good reason. All my nieghboor sell crack or coke, and people are always getting robbed or stabbed. It took maintenance 9 monthsd to get me a new A/C. I still have a hole in my bathtub, and mold around my tile. There was never any make ready done to the apartment. Don't move here unless you don't care about you life or anyone elses life.

I love the new redone apartments!

I have lived in Copper Mill for 3 years now, and the saff are helpful and the place looks nice they have painted and done new things to the out side of the property. They also upgraded the inside of the apartments. I like living here im close to shoping and the coustomer service is great.

It feels like a camp not a homely atmosphere

I have painfuly lived here for three years now and its time to get outonce my lease ends. Its not worth my money. From flooding car parks towing resindents cars without notice(to get it back it cost $200 and above), $50 charges for notices give when you are at work(they assume everyone stays home cheking on the 12Hrs notices they stick on the door, unreasonable rent increase( from 520 to 700 for the same apt. in 2 and half years, resident packages left in the apt.office disapearing without trace. It takes forever to get maintanace respond to urgent issues. You dont get the sense of a home , it feels like a camp. First floor used to have open patio where you would go out and enjoy the sun but now its closed up without asking for the tenants opinion making the rooms dark . There is a reason tenants chose a floor plan and sign lease contract; any alteration without tenants concent or changes to the plan should lead to bleach of the contract.
