The unit itself has a good layout, one car garage, and a small yard for our dog. I'm afraid that's pretty much the only good thing about this place. Andrea Palladino with Property Society was pretty unprofessional--didn't answer the phone often, rarely responded to emails, and no-showed for an appointment I made with her to sign the lease. She didn't ensure the maintenance main made requested repairs. She was nice enough when you interacted with her, but still not great. Which then brings me to the company who took over in October, Myan Management. I thought Andrea was bad, but then these guys came along. The office is across town by Reagan High School in a shady apartment complex. They answer the phone roughly 10% of the time, and do not return messages. The manager, Stephanie, is really nice if you drive across town and go in person. But she does not follow through with her promises. It took 90 DAYS for us to get a roof leak and subsequent hole in the ceiling repaired. 90 DAYS. The only thing that got them to come out and fix it was a certified letter to Stephanie and a copy sent to the Myan Management corporate office. The latest outrage? We paid our rent a week early to their online payment system, PayLease, but the payment didn't post to our account. On the 9th of the month, they put an EVICTION NOTICE on our door that we had to move out in two days. Besides this being illegal (evicting people is a process; you can't do it for rent being a week late...even though ours wasn't), it turns out it was an empty threat. The leasing agent I spoke with said they sent out roughly 30 eviction notices that day because they "didn't have the time to look up everyone's phone numbers and call." They "couldn't tell if it was really lack of payment or a screw up on their side." Seriously, that's what he said. Further, when I told him that policy was BS, he said, "Well, that's standard policy. Every management company does that. The only one I've worked at that doesn't was a luxury community. Residents there expect superior customer service, so we always called them for payment issues." EXCUSE ME?! Don't ALL RESIDENTS deserve good customer service? Outrageous. We cannot wait for our lease to be up. Please, please do not live here unless you don't mind unprofessional, incompetent management.
