Resident 2018

7/4/2018

These apartments are old and it shows. Although the floor plans are spacious and the older trees in the community give this place a home-y feel, there are cracks and leaks in walls, under doors and in cabinets - spiders and other bugs on a DAILY basis. AC works hard all day in the summer to combat ------ insulation. Poor planning results in near-instant flooding as soon as it starts raining! Cabinets and drawers are extremely narrow and won't actually store plates, cups etc. We are using the pantry for dishes and have put up shelving for pantry items. The "wood" flooring is scratched up and won't be replaced. Windows were filthy inside and out upon move-in, and for some reason all of the screens are screwed on so they're pretty impossible to clean. Included appliances are old. Dryer takes 3 hours to dry cotton sheets! Maintenance is slow to respond to requests and repairs are made with minimal attention to detail, although the staff are friendly. This property is a lot smaller than most, which is nice for a lot of reasons. However, because of this, the apartments also don't sit empty for long and you likely won't be able to view the exact apartment you'll be moving into. ASK IF THE PREVIOUS TENANT WAS A SMOKER. It took me 3 months to get the smell of smoke out; the stink was in the blinds, in the walls, in the AC vents; windows and baseboards were blackened with tar that wasn't properly cleaned before I moved in. If you can afford a few $100 more/month, go for a newer place. I wish I hadn't moved here.
