DO NOT RENT here unless you want to pay for subpar service and apartments that operate outside the law. The old company was crappy and I will admit I was excited about the change of ownership in 2015, but now I would go back to the slum lords that owned the property previously in a heartbeat. So let's start with the mailbox door that was broken for 4 months and having to go to apartment the office to get mail, then the to post office and then back to the apartment office, because no one wanted to deal with it. Then the fact that the new company is more concerned about making the property look good than actually improving conditions of the apartments. The new owners/ management did not credit us for out entire deposit with the pervious company. We can no longer write checks or drop payments off at the office, even though my lease, with this new company, says I can pay anyway but cash, but now they only accept electronic payments. The parking lot was paved nice right? Well, they released a map of places to avoid while the paving was under way and if vehicles were in the way of crews, those cars would be towed at the owners expense. Fair right? Only if the company had followed the map. And how much notice were we given to move vehicles you ask? Not even 24 hous and again the map was not followed so no one knew where to park. I have had a construction crew parked outside my apartment for months on end, so much for privacy. We received less than a days notification about maintenence items that effect the entire complex, including info about roofing repairs, chimney cleanings, replacing boards on balconies, putting rocks in, oh and did I mention that water was cut off at 8am monday morning without notice and off for the better part of the day. I received an email at 10a that Monday, stating the water was off for the complex for repairs. The gym was open 24 hours a day and the new owners now it is only open during office hours. I still have yet to receive my 2nd key to my new mailbox that was replaced 2 months ago after 4 months of no mailbox, because only the head maintenence man can make copies and he has multiple properties to manage, and waiting 6 months for access isn't enough. When talking to the complex management about these issues, we don't even get a "sorry," we get a response that says "we are doing our best." When confronted about an abuse of power they get defensive. So if you expect to have a decent place to live and have your basic needs met by the rent you pay, go somewhere else.
