I have been a resident since 1/2018 and just signed my second lease! The complex itself and community is great, however the process to upgrade to a larger apartment was less than average. If you can't find the layout or upgrades you want in a 30 day window, you have to a "break a lease and it's in the same complex. It would be nice if when an unit becomes available they allow you to upgrade with "breaking a lease"! I have never broke a lease and don't plan on doing that! My credit and rental history is important to me.

    Thank you for your review of our community, My name is Nikki and I am the Director of Operations and wanted to thank you for continuing to choose to reside art Riata for another year. At Riata, we allow residents to transfer at the end of their lease term if they decide they want to change apartments. Once a resident has selected their new apartment home, we ask that a 30-day notice is given and this is generally at the end of a resident lease, if a resident does not find an apartment that they like then they can choose to renew their current lease or decide to go MTM until they find the right home that meets their needs, so I do apologize for any confusion that may have occurred during your recent transfer. We understand your concern with breaking your lease and that is why we typically outlined all options to our residents, so they understand that if they choose to move out prior to their lease ending that this would be considered breaking their lease, and fees would be assessed. I am glad that you were able to find an upgraded apartment home that met your needs, and you decide to continue your residency at Riata. Thank you for your feedback and your residency.
