I have severe hearing loss and without my hearing aids I can hear thumping sounds from above like they're elephants. It drives me crazy! I live near the sand volleyball area and I don't mind hearing the cheer when they score! LOL. But what drives me crazy are neighbors from above. The quality of the complex is mediocre. I come from a higher standard of living and moving into this place is my mistake. If I had known to research about apartment ratings and reviews prior to moving here, I wouldn't have moved here in the first place. The rent seemed doable for me for the time being here. So you get what you pay for. This complex is huge and a lot of stuff going on all at once. I prefer a smaller community. I lived and co-owned a condo unit that has 71 units total for 3 1/2 years to a 500 unit apartment complex and it's so different. Now that I know, I'll go back to the smaller community but with higher expectations, ratings/reviews and quality of overall service. Anyway, they do say they are family owned property and they only have one other sister property. Also another lesson learned is I wished I researched further when selecting a property is to make sure that there are multiple of sister properties to choose from. Because I had a job change and requires me to leave here and move to DFW area toward the of this month. If they had a sister property and if the reviews were good enough I would've requested a transfer. The inside quality of their apartment units is below my standard. All of the cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom are crappy, kitchen fridge and stove are dated, I am used to having a farm deep sink and this kitchen doesn't cut it and it's cheap. The other apartment units have screen doors and I don't. I requested to have one installed and they said it'll cost me $20.00 to have one installed. Really? Why charge me for something that I don't have but the other units have? It doesn't make sense. The quality of people living here is a mix. Very diverse community. The swimming pool is full of kids in the summer months and just too many people at once. They did paint and make the unit look nice upon of arrival. I enjoyed that but the smell wasn't pleasant and it must've been from the previous tenant that was a smoker. I do not smoke and used air fresheners and it seemed to help. Sometimes a smell comes in and don' know where it comes from since I hadn't cooked for some time. It's kind of weird at times. They property management whether it's family owned or not, they should do a better job at their quality of product by remodeling their units for better quality appliances and cabinets, etc. The next apartment I am headed to is much nicer, bigger and better quality of service, area and ratings! yay me!
