We live on a top floor west facing unit, absolutely love the view over the pond. The AC hardly worked when we moved in and we called maintenance once and the guy said he charged the system so we assumed all was well. Once the temps got hot (and it will in west facing/top floor) the AC couldn't keep up. We called maintenance again and the guy told us the last person completely overfilled the system and it wasn't working at all. He fixed it and gave us a timeline to allow the unit to catch up. It never caught up so we called again and they sent out a professional HVAC guy at almost 6 PM who was here for a little over 2 hours. AC works wonderfully now. Moral of the story: if it doesn't work, let maintenance know asap! They're quick about it and if you're nice to them they take care of you. The unit is great. I like the layout. The unit they'll show you has white walls and grey trim, but the unit we got has an awful brown trim and cream/tan walls. May be worth asking them to paint it or asking if you can paint prior to signing the lease. If you are west facing and especially if you are top floor, do not wait to get black out curtains, do it as soon as possible. Also, the ducks on the pond can be a little annoying at night if you like to keep your windows open.
