Resident 2018 - 2019

6/18/2019

BAIT & SWITCH, CUT CORNERS, & APATHETIC MANAGEMENT Suffice it to say that I hate giving bad reviews, but I'm at my wits end and have given management AMPLE time to turn things around. Silence has been my response. My biggest issue, and I cannot stress this enough, is that we would NOT have chosen the Triangle, had it not been for the Loft unit we were shown and how fantastic it looked. Bright, updated, clean, and chic with appealing neutral whites and greys throughout - we were excited to move in. However, what were actually given was a dated, beat-up, garish, and filthy unit that was hastily turned over after the previous resident. This included: * different floors, different cabinets & backsplash, different fixtures, different paint - all different in the worst way possible * dusty baseboards, blinds, windowsills, railings, cabinets, etc. (complete with dead bugs) * cabinets not fully cleaned - gunk, dust, and other evidence of previous tenant use remained * grey/black pet hair from previous tenant * paint overspray everywhere from rushed paint job * broken things that are STILL BROKEN four months later (our oven is becoming unusable due to a missing faceplate) * HAIR CLOGGED DRAINS, gouged floors, fingerprints on light panels & doors, peeling fixtures, mineral build-up, water damaged shelving, dirty windows, and more * MOLD in the bathrooms that was actually PAINTED OVER * loose, unsecured thresholds in multiple doorways * windows are barely movable without putting some shoulder into it * 50% of the front porch lights along our row are out * absence of NEST that was in the unit we were shown We repeatedly asked to see the unit we would be getting prior to move-in but were told that wasn't possible - not even pictures. We were only vaguely told that it "may be a little different depending on what work has been done on it". These units have a hefty price tag on them and are presented as "LUXURY". "Better sign the lease or you'll miss out, these go quickly." Unethical sales tactics at their best. "Maintenance" is nothing more than duct tape and chewing gum repairs/installations from unlicensed individuals that honestly make me question the safety of the units as a whole. I have already injured myself twice - cutting my foot on a nail that wasn't properly countersunk on a bathroom threshold, and cutting my hand on our own front doorknob due to it delaminating from age. The worst cut corners: * Showers/Baths: instead of a proper two part epoxy coating to refinish the bathtubs/showers, these people used standard high gloss paint to simply paint over everything without even cleaning it first!! Negligence, laziness, cheapness, or all of the above? We're dealing with paint peeling off of all of these surfaces, and have had to scrub the paint off of the caulking in order to clean the mold underneath. * Unclean: the unit was haphazardly given a once over and nothing more. We were forced to spend hours cleaning and vacuuming just to bring us peace of mind. The higher windows in the unit are still not clean because we can't reach them. Management initially seemed to respond, but only due to my partner and I repeatedly reaching out. They never actually put any words to action, and have since gone completely silent on us. Once the lease was signed and we moved in, they couldn't care less. ALSO NOTABLE: - The gym is not "state of the art", that's false advertising for two rooms full of the cheapest equipment available, that are always in a state of disarray. - My car was robbed in the parking garage in December despite their "security." - The lobby (and therefore the gym) constantly wreaks of some cheap overpowering Glade plug-in that makes spending any time there bordering on unbearable.
