Resident 2019 - 2020

6/2/2020

I originally had written a very positive review for this apartment complex. It was written this way in hopes that my positivity about trivial changes would somehow manifest in a way that would make these apartments better. Pros: -Close to campus. Cons: -The staff members leasing managers etc are all college students, inexperienced and care more about social media post than they do the upkeep of the apartment -Nothing on the premises gets repaired. For example, the volleyball court has had no net for months. The pool is often green, and some of the chairs and things are an absolute chaotic mess. There are potholes 1ft by 1ft that have not been repaired since I moved here. At one point there was a huge pile of glass from a broken windshield that took weeks upon weeks to finally be cleaned up. The bulk trash location is disastrous and unsanitary. -Location: You might be close to campus but you aren't close to anything else. If you have a car then don't move here, there are cheaper options that are closer to stores, and the fun stuff to do here. The nearest store is a gas station a 15 minute walk away. The store they have advertised right next to the apartments has been shut down for months. If you are choosing this apartment to live closer to campus, congrats you are closer to campus, but how are you going to buy your groceries? How are you going to go anywhere if the location is where it is. The bus stop advertised as being right in front of the apartment complex is actually a good five minute walk and on campus. -People I have talked to have mentioned that they were tricked into signing a lease. -ROOMMATE FINDER- This is a big one! I was promised by the staff that I would be given a fully furnished apartment because that's what I pay monthly for. Instead I was only given an apartment with only bedroom furnishing. They refused to even make my monthly furnishing bill cheaper regardless of the fact that I was promised living room furnishing and I didn't get it. -Getting out of a lease: During the pandemic many people who have family members suffering with covid are unable to get out of a lease that hasn't started yet to support a potentially dieing family member. This is greed in a nutshell. -Maintenance: The furnished bedroom I got was low quality. The chair has broken three times and regardless of the fact that they dont fix the chair they just get another one from the closet, it takes them over a week to get me a new one. (Also when I called to put in a maintenance request I was basically told to do it myself.) -False advertising: They claim on there website- "At College Edge, we care about your student's success and that includes making sure they have everything they need for the school year. Bedding. Toiletries. Dishes. Cookware. Decorations to make your new home feel like home!" No one I know including myself have received any of the above. If you are looking at this place because its close to campus, look elsewhere. Most apartments around campus offer valet driving provided by the apartment to the campus and are much higher quality.
