Resident 2014 - 2015

5/24/2015

My boyfriend and I signed a year lease with Cimmaron. The apartment manager, Mark, was always very thorough in his explanations of costs and maintenance and the like. One of the best things about the apartment complex is the maintenance crew, they are on site and every time I called them they came within the hour, or as soon as the could. Before and after a resident leaves, they have the apartment professionally cleaned, they also repaint, so that's nice. I lived on the second floor, so I don't have too much to complain about noise, but our neighbors say they could hear us walking around, also, I could hear them talking when they were talking loudly.. So that was annoying. Most of our neighbors had dogs, but they were all nice and not too loud. The community is mostly college students, being basically a walk away from West Texas A&M. (across the highway, but people still walked, haha) The location is a little loud, being right next to the highway, and a train going by ever 30 or so minutes, but honestly all that was white noise to me, but I know some people have issues with things like that. The pool is open 10a-10p during the summer, but not any other time. Which is fine, because who wants to swim in the cold weather anyway? haha. The lawns are mostly taken care of, although the grass in front of my apartment never seemed to get mowed. They recently repainted the whole building, so it's no longer all yellow with yellow doors and yellow everything. haha. Now its yellow/tan with brown trim, and red doors. So its a little nicer I suppose, but I always focus on the inside of apartments. The upstairs apartment we had was nice and spacious, and we never had too many maintenance problems. The only thing that really did bother me about my whole experience with Cimmaron is the Direct TV dish I had: When we got the dish, my boyfiend asked the apartment manager what we would do with it when we move out. We were told to leave it there and the apartment will take care of it when we move out. Okay, so when we got our deposit back in the mail, they had charged us a fee of $25 to remove it. We were also charged $90 for the following month's electricity, even though we left the lights off when we left. Other than that, the apartment complex is great and I highly recommend it to college students, or anyone else I suppose. :)
