My husband and me moved here in August 2011. This is probably isn't the safest place to live but they do a good job for what apt charge is. I don't know what everyone is complaining about. You want a safe secured parking lot - go to the complexes where everything is fenced, gate with a code and rent $1000 for 1 bedroom. You don't want to hear the neighbors and want your walls thick - buy a house in suburbia and have a nice safe place for your kids. Come on people! This is a good place to live. it's one of the cheapest - it's true but everyone wants to pay noting, live in a mention and be treated like a king. Maintenance here is very quick, they come either the same day or very next. All the roads are fixed now, all rotten poles are replaced, houses are being repainted, they notify you about that, parking lot and the whole area is well lit, no dark corners. The only 2 things I would suggest for improvement is installing boards with directions on the streets because when guests come to visit you it's impossible to find your building. And the second thing is that pool is closed most part of the year, even in summer and not very clean. When I lived in my previous place in Galveston, they would change the water every morning, yes it probably was the same water but at least it saw filter and was always clean. Our rent ends in may 2013 and we are absolutely renewing it for another year.
