Let's start with the good. The price is right and one of the best in Dallas, especially for the area. My apartment is huge and affordable-great deal for college students. It's close to 635 and 75, and Northpark Mall, SuperTarget, etc. The maintenance requests usually get taken care of within the next day (unless it's a weekend-then forget it.) The office staff is very nice and helpful, and the pool (there are 2) that is covered by trees was kept very clean this summer.

Ok, the bad. There are two phases that were built 10 years apart, and that apparently makes a big difference. I live in the older phase (1) and have had to have fixed my mini-blinds (which literally just fell when I tried to close them), icemaker (which flooded my dining room), my shower head, and toilet tank flusher, among MANY other things. The stairs to the apartments are steep, and often my building lights are out-very dangerous at night when you can't see anything! Parking is bad because people park in the fire lanes, but it seems to be friends of people in the complex who are too lazy to park in open spaces.

Safety is the biggest issue here. If you live in the back, it seems to be safer than in the front (another complex runs up to our property line at the front and I've actually seen their vagrants knocking through parts of the fence, or climbing up from the ravine, to get in our complex.) This is a gated community, and for a reason! My first month here, I was scared out of my wits by a cop knocking on my door at 6:30 am looking for a past resident (seems he could've asked the office who lived there). Unfortunately I've never felt too safe walking around the complex at night. The icing on the cake came over New Year's- helicoptors flying over the complex and cop cars and sirens everywhere looking for someone. Also I have had the maintenance guy knock on my door at 10:30 at NIGHT to check on a leak for the apartment below mine- and then ask if he scared me!

One more thing- if you live in Phase 1, beware that the balconies connect to your neighbors, and there are stairs at each end, meaning anyone can be on your balcony and get into your place, even if you live on the 3rd floor.

Overall, this isn't a bad place, but requires a lot of patience to live here! (Choose phase 2!!)
