Resident 2020

1/18/2021

The locks to my apartment were changed and my property was stolen by the employees. I rented this place 1/09/20 or so. I was looking for another place because the property air conditioning went out and was out from April to mid Oct. I found a job and a new place in California. I asked Lisa the property manager at the time to be let out of my lease early. I would pay whatever I had to pay. She said the only I could break my lease is I was in the army or accepted another job out of state. I told her I did and I emailed her all the information that she needed and she still denied me. Ronnie Zuniga another person working in the office said that it wasn't fair of her to send me through all of that just to turn me down. I get it! This is a contract I signed and I have to carry through with it because I didn't want a broke lease on my credit and I'm just a responsible person. I just moved anyway and was paying my rent. Due to being jerked around by a moving company, I had to leave things behind because they didn't have enough room for the items at my apartment. I was moving two households to California with me. I had to leave my fairly new king size bed, 55inch tv,60 inch tv, Kenmore stand mixer, a couch and a big Joe chair. After moving to California I came back to Dallas Sat night Sept 19th and couldn't get into my apartment. Couldn't reach anyone to get in my apartment because it was after hours. So I left, got a hotel and called the office that Monday and no one knew anything about it. Someone was going to call me and NEVER did. All calls went unanswered until I went back to Dallas to clean out the apartment on Sunday Nov 29th 2020 and again I couldn't get in to my apartment and it was 43 degrees that night. I called the after hour line and left a voicemail and no one called me back. My husband, children and I had to get a hotel again. Called the next morning and spoked to Ronnie Zuniga and he looked up my info as he was looking up my info he said it had to be a reason the locks have been changed and talking about late or non payment of rent. After going through his system he IMMEDIATLY starts to apologize about my locks being changed, he's about to call Jessica Stocks because she is responsible for this because he just returned to this property and he had no parts in this. Ronnie put the lock back on the door and I was able to get in. The apartment door knobs in the kitchen and hallway closet was missing, paint chippings was all over the place, broken boards was laying around. Looks like someone was living in the apartment. Someone left a number 2 in the toilet, tore up my sofa, took my king size bed $7538.76, frame, head board, mattress and mattress protector also they took my two 55 inch & 60 inch tv's and my new Kenmore stand mixer $280.00. After seeing this I went and spoke with Jessica Stocks (Property manager) who said she was out of office for a week because she thought she had covid19. She said some lady that she don't know came in while she was gone and changed the locks to my apartment. Sounds like a lie she was trying to get out of. She said she will let me out my lease a month early with no cleaning fees, reimburse me for my property, hotel expense and for the months the locks were changed. She asked me to send receipts. I told her I only have receipts for my bed and hotel, the mixer was a birthday gift and I don't have receipts for the tv's. She told me to go to Walmart and get the price of the tv's from there. I asked her to put it in writing and she said she couldn't until she hear back from here manager. That was Nov 16th and here it is Dec 22nd and everyone I call has an attitude and isn't replying to my emails and the receptionist has an bad attitude and saying everyone is working from home due to Covid and I can't have their direct contact number. I want payment for my bed $7538.76, hotel $300, 65 inch 677.99, 55inch $598.00 mixer $280.00, tow months rent that I paid and the locks were changed and my security deposit. Everyone has my receipts, contact info and still haven't heard anything back. But I do have recordings of our conversations.
