Anonymous, Thank you for your input. As management, we would like to address a few of your concerns noted in your review. Yes, rents have gone up in the building, as they have in much of Dallas. If you are currently looking for apartments, you will find that South Sideâ??s price per square foot, with the increases, is still extremely competitive in our sub-market. We offer a lot of square footage for the price. The pool and roof top are being completely renovated and unfortunately, that requires that they are closed for the summer. I agree that the timing is not great and we would never intentionally choose to inconvenience our residents or cause us all grief. With most multi-million dollar projects, there are many variables that are out of our control that determine the commencement date of the project. We know this is a huge inconvenience to our residents and because of this, we in the office have had brainstorming meetings to create events for you and forged partnerships with community pools for the summer. The two ice cream socials we have had in the last few weeks were very well attended and everyone had a great time. I hope you were able to stop by. We also have a large summer splash event coming in the next couple of weeks and are working on more events for July and August. We welcome you to call or come by the office and meet Bill, the Property Director. Bill or any of the managers have an open door and we look forward to speaking with you.

It is my sincere apology that you did not have a pleasant experience here at South Side on Lamar. Yes, we do have businesses in the building, however we strive to keep business and residential life separate in addition, we monitor where individuals go with 24 hour concierge service. In regards to common spaces, yes they can be rented out for use. It has to be approved through the leasing office and there are certain guidelines that are to be followed. We have courtesy staff, that monitor the building 24 hours a day and when there are events scheduled rest assure we maximize on our staff to cater to traffic flow. Our resident managers' door is always open for anyone to voice their concerns and we are always open to accommodate our residents to ensure they are comfortable in their living space. As for as our office staff, we pride ourselves on being very professional yet personable, I do apologies for any negative experience you might have had. South Side on Lamar does not manage the electric; we are on a commercial rate which allows our residents to have electric at a lower rate without being in contract. If you experience an unusual amount on your bill you can always request for it to be looked at again, as well as request maintenance to check for any unusual activity that might cause a spike in usage. We believe in communication and strive to make sure our residents are satisfied. I do apologies for your negative experience, and we value the input of current and past residents, as it helps us to clean up areas we can improve on and continue to provide excellent service.

Taking in to consideration this was added almost two years ago I do feel that this unsatisfied resident deserves a response. A lot has chaged since this April 2002 post. WE have done several updates throughout the property and housekeeping and porters are here on proeprty 7 days a week. In regards to the rooftop we will begin renovating mid Novemebr (roughly 2 weeks). It is to be take into consideration that staff has changed as well as procedures and duties. It is our goal to make this a wonderful living expereince and I think as of today -Novemebr 5, 2013) we are doing just that. Also I would like to note that we just celebrated 100 years of this building standing! With that sad things take time and the building exterior is on its way to repairs, nonetheless we do not want to take away any historical aspectes of the property. I am deeply sorry that you have had a bad experience and I hope that it does not happen again!
