Not worth the aggravation

It seems nice until you move in. Leasing staff acts very friendly, until you sign. After that, they don't recognize you. Think about how you're treated when you by a mobile phone. Since moving in last year, noticeable cost-cutting is obvious. Common areas are cleaned about once-a-month now. Burned out lights take several days to replace, even in stairwells. Forget the trash chute on the weekend. The outside areas and garage aren't cleaned at all. They've stopped running air conditioning in the halls. You can walk around any part of the building and see the masonry is falling apart. No one is doing any maintenance to the structure. Take a walk on the roof and you'll know why renting on the 9th floor is not a good idea. The staff pretends they want to help. but they just want a paycheck without exerting any effort. Do not expect anyone to follow-up just because you reported something. You have to escalate EVERYTHING to the leasing manager if you want any resolution. The only response you will get is if something mechanical has to be fixed. Forget about quality of life issues. They claim there are dog restrictions (breed, quantity), but it's a free-for-all. They'll rent to anyone who will sign a lease. The dog restrictions get a wink and a nod. They've reduced dog doo pickup in the designated areas. Since most of the dog owners let their dogs go anywhere they want, and wouldn't think to pick up, it's no exaggeration to say SSOL is in a ------ neighborhood. Beware if you have kids, many dogs are off leash inside and outside of the building. THEY DON'T ENFORCE NOISE, PARKING OR ACCESS RULES AT ANY TIME. You'd enjoy living here if you're either, fortunate enough to be surrounded by very considerate people above, below and on either side; or you're a selfish, inconsiderate jackass with low standards who wants to be surrounded by more of your kind. It may look like a nice place, but decent people could do much better.

Taking in to consideration this was added almost two years ago I do feel that this unsatisfied resident deserves a response. A lot has chaged since this April 2002 post. WE have done several updates throughout the property and housekeeping and porters are here on proeprty 7 days a week. In regards to the rooftop we will begin renovating mid Novemebr (roughly 2 weeks). It is to be take into consideration that staff has changed as well as procedures and duties. It is our goal to make this a wonderful living expereince and I think as of today -Novemebr 5, 2013) we are doing just that. Also I would like to note that we just celebrated 100 years of this building standing! With that sad things take time and the building exterior is on its way to repairs, nonetheless we do not want to take away any historical aspectes of the property. I am deeply sorry that you have had a bad experience and I hope that it does not happen again!
