Routine maintenance requests often take a long time. We have made a number of routine requests (ice maker broken, trim in doorway of bedroom needed nailed back down, lights burnt out) that would take a week or more to be resolved. In the case of the bathroom lights being burnt out, office staff told us we needed to replace them ourselves (but maintenance staff replaced them anyway). When our water heater was dripping, I think they fixed it in 2-3 days. (ISSUE CORRECTED BY NEW MANAGEMENT) There have been a couple occasions when I had to repeat maintenance requests because they seem to have been lost at some point (I typically make requests through the website). Office is closed at random times. Have often gone to the office shortly after 5PM on weekdays and found it closed. Have also gone shortly before 6PM (the stated weekday closing time on their newly published website) and been told by office staff (through the locked door) that they close at 5:30, not 6. (ISSUE CORRECTED BY NEW MANAGEMENT) Office staff inexplicably sends rent and utility bills to our former address, where they then get forwarded to us. Despite having mentioned this to them on two separate occasions, it has not changed. I don't press the issue because it isn't a huge deal to me and, at this point, I just assume they don't know how to do it. When we first moved in, they made a huge issue about my girlfriend and I not being able to be at the office at the same time to sign documents. We repeatedly told them that our work schedules would not allow us to both be there at the same time. It took a ridiculous amount of time to convince them of this and allow us the insane privilege of signing at separate times. (ISSUE CORRECTED BY NEW MANAGEMENT) The majority of gates into the complex are perpetually broken. Whether or not this contributed to my bike being stolen from where it was locked outside my second story apartment a couple months ago is hard to know, but it's annoying none the less. The outdoor areas of the complex are often covered in dog ----. This is probably exacerbated by the lack of dog baggie stations, although I often see it right near one of the few bag dispensers, so maybe it's just the average quality of the residents here. Many of the parking spaces seem to have been painted with a car in mind that is about 3/4's the size of a normal car. I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone. While the cheaper rent used to be a draw here, it increases substantially with each lease signing, making it harder to justify dealing with the numerous cons. Management also just had my car towed out of a legal parking spot, which is why I'm adding my terrible google review to as many other apartment review sites as I can find. The album below shows where my car was parked and where they had it towed from, as well as the signs stating that it was legal to park there. Management tried to offer various reasons for my car being towed (parked in an unmarked spot, parked in front of no parking sign, parking spot not owned by Renn Parc) until I took pictures and showed them that they were lying to me. Then they said they'd have to talk to their manager and refused to send me the picture they had taken of where my car was parked "in case this goes to court". (ISSUE CORRECTED BY NEW MANAGEMENT) http://imgur.com/a/lbdyu EDIT: Raised from 1 star to 3 stars for the prompt resolution of the towing issue. While they initially refused to reimburse me for my vehicle that was towed, they have looked at the parking area and decided to reimburse me. The new manager also said that she fixed the hours of operation issue (closing before official closing time), although I haven't had cause to check this recently. Further, they will be issuing parking passes sometime in the near future to prevent problems similar to mine.
