Resident 2016 - 2021

7/25/2021

Lived here for 5 years while attending grad school at TWU. Overall a very solid experience, the location is perfect if you are a student, plus it is within walking distance to the library, and close-ish to Denton Square. Cody, the property manager, is an all-around awesome guy: super nice, very helpful, patient, and really fast with any repairs or fixes. The living spaces themselves are decent and offer good space, though it might be a bit tight if you're having guests over.

I lived at Bellmere for two years and highly recommend this complex! The grounds and units are well maintained and Cody responds quickly to fix any issues that come up. The management and maintenance staff are friendly and professional. TWU and the Downtown square are all within walking distance. There is alot to do near by and a beautiful park across the street. The only con is the train, but you get use to it.

      Resident 2012 - 2013

      3/19/2019

I want to start off by saying that I really enjoyed my time staying at Bellmere. The layout of the apartments is extremely unique in that the bedroom is on the 2nd floor and the living area is on the first floor. This style layout is rare to find but it is really cool! I remember loving being so close to the square (walking distance) and I enjoyed going for runs around TWU's campus. The feel of approaching the front door is like you're walking into your own house. No 2nd floor apartments here! Every unit is built like a townhome. Okay, now that I got that out of my system I will state that I would never live in these apartments ever again. There were 3 dealbreakers: roaches, thin walls, and... you guessed it, the train! Looking back I doubt I ever had a good night's sleep because there are train tracks literally in this apartment's backyard. Plus the train is required to sound it's horn in this area because apparently there is a crossing nearby. I woke up my first night in a startle. It was so loud! Yes you eventually get used to it but it's pretty… See More>

        Resident 2015 - 2018

        6/8/2018

My husband and I lived here for three years and absolutely loved our time here. It's in an amazing location that's extremely walkable. We walked to the square, restaurants, bars, etc, and got to enjoy the park that's right across the street. Any issues we ever had were resolved by Cody as quickly as possible. Most apartments are difficult to live in since the office staff doesn't care to know who you are. Cody knew both of us by name and always made us feel so welcome at this complex. To top it off, it's extremely affordable for the prime location it's in. By far the best apartment I've lived in and would definitely recommend any of my friends to live here!

I have lived in the Bellmere apartments for almost a year now. I am staying in the 1 bedroom and 1.5 bath units. I absolutely love that the apartments style gives me both floors- which means no noisy upstairs neighbors! The best part of these apartments in my opinion is the apartment manager, Cody Hess! He is the absolute best at being prompt, efficient and is a wonderful guy! I have only had about two small things that needed to be repaired and it was fixed the very same day that I told Cody about it! These apartments are located walking distance from TWU, and is very close to UNT as well. It is a very safe area, and the apartments are beautiful. Couldn't brag about these apartments enough!

I've lived here for close to six years and thought it was time to finally write a review. I moved from a 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom layout during that time frame. Both layouts were great :) First off, the main reason I chose to move here was due to the looks. It gave a very good first impression. It was the best looking apartments at the time when compared to the other ones near UNT/TWU. Maroon bricks, clean property, looks classy enough to invite people over :) Also, it's a two story loft-like apartment (no walk-out balcony). This was the first time I had encountered a two story-1&2 resident combo apartment anywhere. I think it's pretty neat. Neighbors near me are quiet so that's a plus also. The proximity to everything is another HUGE plus for me. TWU is a 2 minute walk and DENTON SQUARE is about 1 mile away. The DCTA bus stop is literally right outside also. The property manager responds right away if I text him... something I'm not used to with other places I've lived at. I cannot say enough about it. They spray for bugs I think every other month. I've yet to… See More>

This apartment complex has ---- plumbing. My toilets are constantly clogging and overflowing. I have never had this problem before moving here. Also, they surprise you with a rent increase notice one month before your lease is up. The walls have literally no insulation. Don't ask how, but I managed to get between a wall in my apartment and no, there was no insulation (and this was a wall that seperated inside from outside). So expect your electricity bill to be +$100.00 per month (easy) if you use the air conditioner/ heater. If your neighbors don't turn on their heater in the winter... then your apartment will be cold enough to make you question whether or not it is even working. Btw, the walls are extreamly thin. I had to hear my neighbor puking in their bathroom one morning. There is also an awful draft in the apartment. There is a gap between my front door and the floor that maintence was unable to fix. They came in and tried... but it hardly did anything. And the windows.... they collect condensation when its moist outside and they will mold. A neighbor's water tank exploded the day after Christmas- I woke up… See More>

Location, Location, Location! This is great complex across the street from a park (with a public pool) that hosts many of Denton's cool cultural events. This apartment is literally a block away from TWU and 5 minutes from UNT (by car) without the "residue" and "hassle" of undergrad college life. It's a quiet complex with friendly residents. I am a graduate student and lived here since 2011. I have no complaints. The manager/maintenance staff is highly responsive and professional. I stayed in a 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath apartment with W/D inside the unit: wonderfully convenient. Also, in the four years I've lived here I have yet to see a roach or any other bug inside my apartment!!! That's rare for Texas, but I think it speaks to good maintenance and good, clean, and respectful residents. My experience at Bellmere Apartments has been great!

Do Not Move Here. I have lived here for 2 yrs and since the day I moved in I have had nothing but problems. My biggest regret is not asking someone who lived here how they liked it. If you are considering moving here ask someone about their experience. For me it has been a living hell and I cannot wait to move. As far as management (Cody) goes, he is very prompt to respond to maintanence requests, things usually get fixed that day or the next, but when he fixes things he does it very fast and sloppily, you will probably have to ask him to come back. The issue of dog feces around the apartments has not been improved, I actually have never seen so much dog poop in my life, it really i disgusting. The walls are so thin you really do hear everything your neighbor is doing, its kinda like having a roommate. These apartments were really poorly built that the upstairs has squeaky floors, drafty doors and windows, and cracks in the walls. Every lease term, rent has been going up and will probably continue to do so. The only good thing about these… See More>

Me and my bf have lived in these apartments for almost 2 years. They are pretty good,Cody is a great you probably won't wind better management in Denton. The walls are a bit thin, I don't think it's that bad though can easily be ignored. The trains is really annoying though, it's extremely loud at unnecessary hour's(not really the apartment's fault). We pay about 200 a mouth each for cable and another 200 for electricity. Water ranges from 20-80. Also Cody now makes every dog owner pick up the poop so it's looking much nicer. only complaint's are Wish there was more lighting at night outside, Washer and drying suck they have torn some of my clothing, and dish washer doesn't wash very well either. I think that's about it.

I lived at Bellmere in a one bedroom by myself for a year and a half and loved every minute of my time there. The layout of the apartment is great. I loved having my bedroom upstairs but still having a half bath downstairs. This is very rare to have in one bedroom apartments. Huge windows let in lots of natural light. I rarely had to turn on my lights during the day. The washer and dryer are small but serve their purpose. The upstairs bathroom is huge with good quality cabinets in the bathroom and the kitchen. The manager Cody is a pleasure to work with and is available by call or text 24/7. I never had to wait more than a day for him to come address the minimal issues I had during my stay here. The complex itself is small and quiet and all the people I encountered were friendly. Lots of young adult couples and older singles. There is a train track located behind the complex and the trains are loud but after awhile I stopped noticing the noise. Overall I would recommend this complex to anyone.

I lived here a year ago and I wish I would have stayed...now draw backs are the train (but seriously you see the train track what do you expect) squeaky floor boards and thin walls. I did get use to the train passing and the floor boards. The kitchen was the largest I had ever had in an apartment. I loved the layout and I loved Cody. Overall it was a great experience living here. i could walk to campus and I lived at the back closer to the train but very tranquil as far as neighbors. I enjoyed living here mainly because it was very home-y feeling. I wish I would had stayed but its not ideal for raising little rugrats in especially with the train passing with a sleeping newborn.

dont be fooled by the looks

I found this place at the very last minute before school started and I thought it couldn't get much better than this. There's a (TINY) washer and dryer unit in the kitchen which is great. The floorplan is really nice for the price and the bedroom and closet is even spacious. Now if appearance is all you're going for, go ahead and stay here. But if you have a problem hearing your neighbors take a piss in the middle of the night, hearing their conversations, hearing them run up and down the stairs and slam the doors, pretty much everyday, DO NOT stay here. The walls are incredibly thin and do not leave anything to the imagination. Another problem are the trains the complex is ridiculously close by. Every single day AND NIGHT multiple trains pass by and the noise is as if you are living in new york. If you value your sleep or any kind of quiet time, do not stay here. I cannot wait for my lease to be over because I haven't had a decent nights sleep since I've been here. Another thing, the place is right on the street so you hear cars going by… See More>

not the worst place ever.. some good things and some bad

The apartment manager, Cody, was a pain to deal with. I lived at Bellmere for over a year, and he would not fix anything unless I called him about it about at least 5 times. A few times, I had to get my Dad to make a phone call for me to get anything done, which is not something an adult in their 20s should have to do. Once you've spent the proper amount of time bugging Cody to fix something, he usually did. However, it was a less than adequate job that needed him to come back to work on some more. Cody was the only person at the apartments that you could ever get in touch with, even in an emergency. I had problems with the ac/heater working properly, a leak in my ceiling from the ac, bugs and beetles crawling into the apartment all of the time... The noise was terrible at the apartments. They were located right next to the train tracks, and trains blasted their horns at all hours of the day/night. The walls are paper thin, and I could literally hear my neighbors burp. I felt safe at Bellmere. My neighbors were a… See More>

                              Good place

I lived in a 1 bedroom, 1 and half bath apartment, 625 sq ft. The living room was a decent size, as well as the bathroom. It was weird not having a dining area, though. There is a breakfast bar in replace of that however. The bathroom upstairs is a good size. The one downstairs is fine as well. There is a stackable washer/dryer but that was too small for me to do any decent load of laundry. No bugs. I lived there with the old management, he was AWFUL. He would fine me fees that he never mentioned to me EVER, and then charge a late fee on top of that because he would never tell me about them. He never fixed anything. There is now new management, and it's really good. Cody fixes everything and is very friendly. He works everyday on the apartments. He has put up new outdoor lights and spruced up the grounds. I don't really hear anything from my neighbors because the walls aren't that thin, that's good. You get free cable. Plenty of parking. No pets allowed, though. Rent is a little higher than most (650 electric) so there aren't that many… See More>

It is true, the old manager was lazy and rude. I have lived here since last July and have experienced the old management and the new. However, new ownership and management have really got this place turned around. The new management has been working really hard, everything has been repainted and looks super nice. As far as maintenance goes, I had got locked out of my apartment on saturday morning and the manager drove forty minutes to let me in. I was impressed to say the least. I live in a one bedroom, and it is a very nice town home style apartment. I really love the fact that they have a washer and dryer in them, that comes in so handy. The only downfall is the train, but its not that bad, I got used to it quickly and no longer bothers me. I would recommend this to anyone!

Everything works here great and i love the washer and dryer slots inside of the apartments. Parking is great never crowded and it is not noisy at all. New manager is friendly and will even come hang out with you if you want. I would recommend this for anybody to move into.

This apartment sucks. I got locked out of my apartment and the onsite manager told me that its not his job to come unlock the door. Only fire and water are emergencies. I was told if I cant wait to call a lock smith. I waited for 5 hours! DO NOT MOVE HERE! There are plenty of things at this apartment that have not been fixed and I've lived her for almost a year. It is ridiculous, the manager is rude and lazy.

                                      Bellmere is... Satisfactory.

Let's face it, you get what you pay for. And while the outside looks nice, it really depends on how well of a job they clean the apartment before you move in. When I moved in, there was mold in the kitchen, ugly wallpaper left from the previous owner, and I had to vacuum three times. No pantry. No light in the bedroom closet. While the neighborhood is pretty quiet itself, you are often awakened by the train-- the tracks are located right behind the complex. So yeah, that was always fun. This place would be so much better if they had PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT. There is an on-site manager, but you can barely get a hold of him-- he doesn't pick up the phone, and the only way you can get to him is to text him a million times. He does all the maintenance and work himself, which is probably why the apartments are in not as good a shape. They need to hire professionals to clean the apartments, because when I moved in this place was down right nasty. Well, let me get off my soapbox. Here are all the pros... This place is a money saver... Rent… See More>
