Nice place

I have lived here for 3 years while in college with my son and have had no complaints except for ants in the summer time. Pest guy came out that next Monday and no more problems! I couldn't find anything that compared to Providence Place for the price. I have only dealt with Courtney in the office and she is always pleasant and asks about my son. I have reccommended this to friends and think it is a nice place to live in Denton.

    Poor Expeirence

I have recently gone and viewed around 12 different apartments in Denton. Overall most of the apartments were terrible. This one at first looked liked a nice place. However, before checking these apartments out make sure you and your roomate aren't full time students because they will not except you. Also make sure you don't mind living with section 8 housing, which is what they do allow. Apparently being educated isn't as good as if you qualify for section 8.

21 year old male... first apartment... im proud to call this place home.

I moved into a 1 bedroom apartment in phase 2 in august 2008. I later moved into a 2 bedroom because a friend of mine needed a place to live and a hefty cut in rent was appealing. I cant say this place is perfect but its crazy to say this is a bad place to live. its by far the nicest apartment complex in denton. And its crazy cheap for the area. I have read a few of the other reviews and i have to agree, the maintenance staff is decent but you have to go through the ladies at the front office, and the message almost never gets delivered. If you need something done you have to make sure they accomplish the task in full while your present. They have a poor communication system and messages never get passed on to the appropriate people. As for the maintenance guy. I had him come to fix a stove when i moved into the 2 bedroom. I was in my master bedroom when he showed up, he knocked on the door and i didnt hear him cause i had my door shut and my music on. He let himself in… See More>

        Loved my apartment!

I was VERY VERY hesitant to move into these apartments when i had read all the reviews but i decided to anyways since they seemed to be one of the nicest i had seen and a great price. I absolutely loved my apartment and if i werent relocating i would have stayed there. I really never heard my neighbors. Yes there are kids outside during the day and evening but they have never been a problem and all the neighbors were very friendly. You cant smell the land fill like ive heard and the parking was fine, every once in awhile id have to walk a little bit further but nothign compared to other complexes i have lived in and paid wayy more. This was the first place i have ever lived that gave me my full deposit back when moving out. I would definetly move here again if i ever went back to Denton.

Not the best- but surely not the worst.

Upon first glance Providence Place seems to be a nicer establishment. Honestly the only problem I ever had with Providence Place was an upstairs neighbor who was often loud, obnoxious, partied every weekend and fought with his spouse so loud I could hear the screams. Of course this isn't the fault of the apartment complex by any means however I wished I the complex was insulated a bit better to avoid such constant noise. Of the times I had to call the courtesy office on these neighbors the officer responded quickly. It also seems that lately kids have been running a muck in the community (loud racing car engines at 3:00 AM). Again not the complexes fault. The staff has always been courteous to me anytime I've had to talk with them (especially the male employee- which makes me find the previous post a bit odd). Parking is bad but that isn't because of insufficient parking, it's mainly because one apartment will have five cars (people not on the lease living with them). Which the ladies in the office might want to pay more attention to. Property upkeep used to be better. I remember the days when I would come… See More>

              Not a bad place

I think that these apt are ok. I do feel the the guy is the leasing office seems to be a smarty pants. everyone one else is nice. i don't have any problems besides the gates we were forces to get keys to a gate that doesn't work. they may need to work on that. but other than that i have renewed my lease for a year. they aren't a bad place to live for me.

                Love Them

I dont know what side of the apts these people are staying on but I have been living here for over 6 months with much delight. If you have a normal persons expectation of apartment living then I recommend this apts. They are beautiful on the inside and the out. I dont go in the office ever because I pay my rent on time and dont have problems, so i dont have to deal with the people in the office and their attitudes and I have had nothing in my apt break on me thus far. I came home from school one day to my door being wide open(my own fault) and nothing had been taken nor had anyone even come in. My own experience has been one of peace now with that said they are not perfect, but no apt is. If you want perfection buy a house but the people in these apt are not ------ or just outright poor, these are working class indivduals, single families and students. There isnt a complex out there full of perfect individuals. Now the downside of the apartments do include noise if you are on the 1st or 2nd floor. You can… See More>

                  Enjoyable at times

We enjoyed our time at Providence Place Apartments except for sharing our pantry, bathroom, and closet with ants during the summer and the occasional scorpian. The grounds were nice and the staff were almost always helpful (Jo and Melissa), except for one young, new girl at the time who worked at the front office. So rude! Maintenance employees were friendly and prompt as could be at fixing whatever went wrong. We lived on the first floor under a family of five and could hear EVERY noise they made and I mean EVERY. Including the scooter on the floor, to parental activity. Was very annoying, especially because they stayed up late and I had a baby and toddler of my own who got to hear everything too. BUT in saying that, I did enjoy our time there, probably because it was transitional and short. I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone whose stay is going to be as transitional and short as mine... and maybe if you are slightly to fully hearing impaired and enjoy the company of small insects.

Worst apartments in existence!! Most noise EVER!!!

Let's just say that looks are deceiving. If you go on looks alone they are nice. But past that, if you want to live with noise, ants, and no water pressure, feel free to live here. The apartments are so poorly constructed that you can hear EVERYTHING that your upstairs neighbors do. Even when they pull a drawer out you can hear the rollers on the drawer. When they flush the toilet it sounds like your ceiling is about to flood. Combine that with neighbors with lousy attitudes that don't care about trying to be considerate of the noise they make and it makes for the worst living conditions ever. And after more than 10 complaints to the office (they tell you 3 are grounds for eviction....yeah right) and more than a handful of calls to the police, nothing ever gets resolved. NOTHING! In fact the neighbors get worse the more we complain. The water pressure is lousy and when you take a shower it's hard to even get the soap off completely. They have a huge problem with ants and you can't even leave anything on the counter. We bought donuts for breakfast and they were in the box… See More>

We had nothing less of an awesome experience

We were afraid we made too much to live in here, but as it turns out the military doesn't pay that much. Jo was an awesome landlord. They took care of whatever we needed when we needed it. The parking was fine (when you pay for the space), the grounds were kept nice, the only thing we didn't like is having to go through an outsourced company for our DirecTV. They wanted to charge us $200 for service we already had. I recommend this to college students, large families who don't make a lot, and people in general. We thought it would be "------" living, but it so was not!

Providence Place (Newer Buildings "Phase ll") Review

i moved into providence place last august into one of the newer buildings in the back of the complex. i was the first resident to ever live in my unit so i was excited to have a brand new apartment. i am moving out in about a month and decided to share my experience on here. The apartment itself has been AMAZING. my neighbors and the office staff are the only negatives on my part. PROS: The electricity is cheap, the parking is always close, and the apartments interior is beautiful and spacious. All apts in the new phase come with really high ceilings throughout, ceiling fans in bedrooms and living room, black appliances in the kitchen, imitation hardwood floors in kitchen/ livingroom/ hallway, carpet in bedrooms/closets. CONS: the office staff is rude and none of them seem to ever be on the same page, the walls and ceilings are super thin.. so thin that i know everytime the girl above me goes to the bathroom because i can hear her walking and the toilet flushing, verizon fios is the only cable/internet available (its good service but really expensive), maintenance requests take about a week to fulfill even though the staff… See More>

One of the worst complexes I've lived in

Where to start. The apartment itself is nice. It's quite spacious and the rent is super affordable. The only real problem I've had with the apartment itself is that stains have been slowly appearing on the carpet though nothing has been spilled. The apartments are low-income and that means LOW-INCOME. As a recent graduate with a roommate who quit school, we don't have tons of money and figured that in a college town most of the neighbors would be in a similar situation. I was very wrong. The people that live here are trashy, shady and disgusting. There is always trash left out around our building. There is always loud bassy music playing outside or kids/teenagers screaming in the middle of the night. There have been fights in the halls of the building on several occasions. We have had problems with our upstairs neighbors being noisy since literally the first night we moved in. They begin at about 5 AM and keep going until about 2 AM. Banging, moving furniture, dropping heavy things, who knows. We have complained many times to the leasing office only to… See More>

                              DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!

We moved in because the apartment looked amazing. With in a month of being in there someone tried to break in! The Manager did nothing about it and wouldn't fix the outside lights so we could see who was trying to get in. The Assistant manager is a huge jerk. He went around threatening to evict people WHO WERE PAYING ON TIME. He went to one woman who JUST MOVED IN. And told her she was dirty and a mess and that he was going to evict her in a matter of weeks because he wanted more money. He yelled at her and used so many hurtful things I was appalled that he did it around people! We have called the cops so many times about people trying to get into our apartment. When we called the maintenance about things that were wrong with the construction of the apartment they CHARGED us! They cashed a check for a security deposit that they said they shredded it then didn't want to refund us! The walls are cracked. the 'wood floors' are peeling. The paint cracks and flakes off around all the corners and windows. The neighbors are HORRIBLE. when we… See More>

I am about to move in and I have only experienced good things. Sure the paperwork is lengthy but they basically do it all for you. They contact employers, schools, etc. You just have to give them the initial application. I have driven through the complex during the day and at night I have never see anyone loitering about, graffetying, or anything else inappropriate. The apts. are extremely nice inside and in a great location. I find it a privledge to be able to move in!!! You should check them out to.

I moved in at the beginning of last year it was great at first, until I spotted a scorpion in one of the bed rooms keep in mind I'm very clean and always kept the place clean and neat. Then ant s ant s ant s ants got into everything I reported that and the staff were saying that there was really nothing that could be done because they were water ants. So I took it upon myself to so what I can and still the ants got into everything. When it was time for me to end my lease I didn't know about the 60 day notice that you had to put in prior to your lease ending until I tired applying for another place and they informed me that I couldn't move out until I put my 60 day notice in. which got me because Providence never sent me a letter informing me that!!! Let me start off saying that there were bugs all over - the sink broke three times, the bath once - the plumbing broke twice ... each time all of this happened it took maintanence at least 6 days to get there and if we happened to be out - oh well for us because all we got was a note saying they had stopped by, then another 6 days would go by.

So i decided to live in these apartments with one of my friends. I lived in a 4BR/2bath unit with 3 roommates. I can't really say I had any major problems other than the hassle of applying (subsidized rent=TONS of paperwork and income verification). Plus it's just RIDICULOUS the rent that we were paying--$800 plus electricity/internet/TV split between 4 people, which meant like $250-260 a month for private rooms in a ~2 year old apartment.

I didn't have any problems with the staff other than them often getting onto us about stuff sitting on our balcony, which I can't really argue about since we DID sign an agreement saying that we can't have stuff on the balcony.

Positive: CHEAP rent; quick service when a part in our water heater needed to be replaced and another time when the Disposall unit stopped working; within walking/biking distance of multiple city bus routes, including to/from UNT; 1-2 blocks from a ton of stores (Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Best Buy, restaurants...) and I-35

Negative: involved application process; forced to use their semi-crappy distributed satellite TV (no HDTV satellite service, and Comcast doesn't have cable service out that far, or at least they didn't when I lived there)

                                                Worst Place to Live

I lived in these apartments for almost a year and a half. When I first moved in the apartment had several things wrong with it and the staff (who are the rudest people I have ever met) kept telling me that I was on the list to get these things done. So now here I am moving out and guess what? Nope they still arent done. I dont think the apartments would be such a bad place if the staff wasnt so rude and actually kept a promise. Also it took several cars being broke into and eventually stolen for the staff to even put up a spotlight outside.

                                                  not to bad

When I moved in i thought that it was going to be a lot of families. as my lease when on for the 7 months it seemed like more college students came through. as far as the staff, they are not RUDE but they are not nice either. they are there to do their job and thats about it. the parking is just RIDICULUS!!!!!! the apt. was the AMAZING condition when i moved in.
