Yes, I know... the community is beautiful. I remember viewing the community for the very first time and being awestruck. I looked up at my husband, knowing nothing would compare, and told him that I believed we had found our home. At that moment in time, we were new to the area and looked forward to our lives' new beginning; little did we know, we were headed in the wrong direction. I know why one would be immediately drawn to this complex, but please beware. The new management's only concern is MONEY AND WILL do whatever they have to do to make sure they get it. They DO NOT care about us, the tenants, or you, the future tenants. They do not care if you have lost your job and are struggling to pay your bills... nor do they care if you eat. They do not care if you have electricity. They do not care if their late fees are draining the funds you have left. They do not care if, by evicting you, they put you and your children on the streets. They do not care if you have nowhere else to go. To give you all a little more insight, my family and I are being evicted. We have resided here almost two years and have absolutely no lease violations. My husband lost his job, and November's rent was difficult to come up with. Albeit our payment was late, we paid almost $1800.00-our rent is less than $1400-which fully covered rent, utilities and fees ($100 for the first day, $10.00 charged for 15 days and court fees). Tina accepted the entire $1800.00, satisfying all of November's rent, but refused to apply it to our account until December's rent is paid (mind you, this was on the 4th of December and rent was just one day late). Luckily, we were able to find assistance for December's rent... but Tina has refused to wait a few extra days. To sum this all up, we are being evicted this month for rent that has already been paid as she is pretending that she never received November's rent. We have three children (age 9, 5 and 2) and instead of preparing for Christmas, we are preparing to become HOMELESS. Whereas most people have their Christmas trees up, we have boxes. But Tina is too preoccupied with running a business to think about the lives she is affecting. I just can't believe that, after TWO years of residing here, eviction was deemed necessary. Especially over rent that is currently only 6 days behind. Anyways, their running a business and we are just numbers, not living... breathing individuals. We, as tenants, are apparently unworthy of their beautiful community--the management is, after all, doing us the favor by allowing us to reside in their complex, and who are we to challenge that? Nonetheless, for you, my best piece of advice is that you fully consider what I have said and do not become distracted by what you see. Before signing a lease with this management, ask yourself these questions; what if I lose my job? Will they assist in making an arduous time easier? Or, will I be left on the street like trash?
