I have loved our apartment here at Camden, they are a great management company. Of course there is always going to be something that needs to be fixed occasionally and maintence has been great. I haven't had a real pest issue, just a couple odd bugs here or there. I also haven't had the place sprayed since we moved in so I'd say, that's pretty good! I think it's a great middle of the road as far as price is concerned. They are building tons of news places, but what you get for the price I am paying is tiny and has no storage. To get the size of apartment I have at a new complex would be way out of my budget. We have stainless steel appliances a great kitchen and I love the layout. Everyday I see an employee walking the grounds picking up anything that is on the ground. They are constantly monitoring the dumpsters and ensuring that they are not overflowing or cluttered with the things people decide to dump. There are cameras on the property and the gates actually work, that's a big deal to me. My neighbors are nice and I really never have a problem with noise. Everyone's going to hear their neighbors at some point especially if you're on the first floor. There are quite a few kids, but I don't see them out much in the complex. There isn't much to do around us, but they are building new food places. We are also very close to a number of attractions and the airport. Cons: They don't accept packages in the office, but every other places I have loved does. Even when we had people stealing packages off doors (happens frequently) they never offered to return to accepting packages. This is a HUGE con in my opinion. I've never lived somewhere where they don't accept packages in the office for residents and I know for a fact other complexes around us do accept them. Especially during the holidays!! The fitness center leaves a lot to be desired. They do have a few good pieces of equipment, but not enough for the fitness center to be a gym replacement. They really should invest in a pulley machine at the minimum. (Thanks for allowing 24/7 access though!) Other complexes near by have some really great fitness centers! Parking is bad. I pay for a carport so I always have a spot, but there is no denying that it's bad. They make you pay for cable even if you don't want it and it's with Charter. We really don't like Charter and if you want something besides just basic cable you then have to go rent a box from charter for every room. You do have the option to select another cable provider, but you still will be paying for charter because they build the price into your rent. It's $50 currently. Then you have to go out and get your own internet and that prevents you from being able to do packages that include both which prevents you from being able to save money. Everyone has valet trash nowadays, but it would be nice to opt out since I never use it and I live right across from the dumpster. They give you trashcan to put your trash in, but we never put it in there because we don't have the space to store an extra trashcan. Why would I want to have two trash cans? If I just use the one that they gave me I wouldn't have a trashcan in the house once I put it outside in the evening. We do really appreciate that they recycle and that is also included in the valet trash which is a big plus! The gate codes are a problem for visitors. If you do not have a specific area code for your phone number you cannot set up gate access for visitors. We constantly have people sitting at the gate waiting to get in. They really need to figure out how to make that work for everyone. The first floor apartments have been experiencing break-ins, and I have had my doormat stolen LOL. It was a nice dormat! I heard a lot of break-ins were going on in this area so it's not just a Camden issue. They do a great job of letting us know what happened and when it happened as soon as they know. They have been actively making changes to combat any issues that arise.
