Havenwood Apartment Homes
Resident · 2009 - 2010
I just recently moved out of Havenwood after living there for a little over a year. I would have to say that overall it was a good experience. The area around the apartments is not good, but I always said that this was the nicest of all the choices in that area. I also never had problems getting a parking space right by my apartment, even when coming home late from work. When I moved in, from the outside, the apartments did not look good, they are pretty old, but the inside had been updated with new appliances, and light fixtures, and had the cutest stone fireplace. And when I left they were beginning renovations on the outside. The office staff was always very courteous to us, and helpful with problems. Hearing about Susan on this website, the manager, was one of the reasons I decided moving here would be ok, and she lives up to her reputation. She was always very friendly and quick to work on any problem. The apartments are old and we had some problems with water from the rain getting in the closet. Not only did they offer to move us to another unit, but they also offered us half off our next months rent for the inconvenience. Since, our area and unit was really nice and we had made friends with our upstairs neighbors we asked to stay, and the staff worked really hard to fix the problem quickly. The maintenance staff is really sweet and helpful as well. The maintenance lady is super sweet and has been working there for a really long time; she really knows her stuff. I remember once I was having trouble getting the lock of my mailbox open, she saw me and stopped to help right away. She went and grabbed me a new lock, and told me if I wanted she would swing by my apartment with the new key when she finished swapping it out. Maintenance is also out everyday picking up any trash and keeping the grounds clean. I did have a couple of problem with my dog finding bones while out on our walks, but it seems they do the best they can to prevent that. The area around my apartment was really quiet, I can only remember one time that my sleep was disturbed. There are the occasional bass bumping cars, but that's at any complex, and it didn't bother me. There were a couple of incidences as far as crime while we were there, mostly around Christmas, but the staff was always very quick to inform you about it, as well as any incidences that happened at nearby apartments, which I really appreciated. There is also a gate, that was always working, with keycard entrance, and every apartment has an alarm system. So all in all the area is terrible but the apartments feel like home. If like me, you need to live in that area between Arlington and Fort Worth, this is your best bet.
