I am currently living there and don't have too many complaints. I am young and its not a bad place for the price. I don't like the fact that it is cheap enough for poor families to live there. I could never live in an apartment with grown kids. So you get punk kids walking around all the time probably because they are tired of being cooped up in an apartment. My apartment is nice and overlooks the pool; of course you get couples hooking up in the pool at night. This is funny at first, but gets annoying when it happens every night during the summer. I have only had a couple of maintenance issues and it did take a while for it to get fixed. I just had to keep calling and they got the hint. I never actually had to go talk to them in person, so I don't know if they are rude or not. I did not like that the gates were always broken and random people could come in. I dislike the area more than the apartments. Its almost like living in the fast and the furious with all the stupid cheap cars that have loud exhausts and neon lights racing down beach st.. I don't think any of those clowns live in the complex though. I work downtown and I have to time it right to go to work or the traffic is horrible. I am moving downtown in a couple of months, but really don't have bad feelings toward retreat. It is a decent place. People complain about noise and things like that. Live on the top floor, it only sucks when you move and you get a higher ceiling. Just remember, you get what you pay for. If you want a really nice place then just pay for it.
