Meh...

I have lived in these apartments for 2 months now so I don't know if my opinion is as valid as people who have lived here for years but this place is decent. This is my first apartment and so far I have only had a few problems. When my room mate and I moved in, I noticed my room (guest/smaller room) didn't get as much air conditioning as the other rooms. I called maintanence who, although nice, ended up having to come over several times. They would say the problem was fixed and because I work 8-5 I couldn't actually be there with them and would come home to a hot room. They left (did not even install!) an a/c filter and said the boxes my room mate had stacked under the a/c for only one day (on visit 3) was the source of the problem. I finally just went into my room mates room closed her bathroom vent and slightly closed the others JUST so I could get air. Now that it is not august, it's not that big of an issue.     Roaches

    I moved in a year a half ago and for the first year and 3 months there was a HUGE roach problem. I have never lived in a place that had that problem and I keep a clean house, so I'm sure it wasn't me. I spoke to the office staff and management many many times about the problem and they did have the apt fumigated several times, but the roaches were still a major problem. When I spoke to the manager about moving to a different unit in the same complex to get away from the problem, she flat out denied my request since "roaches have been a problem since the beginning to time". I also had many noise complaints against people who lived around me. One night the noise from downstairs was so bad that I actually had to leave the apt because after calling the apt courtesy patrol for an hour and a half, nothing was done. Then when I told the management about noise coming from below me during the daytime, she said she went down there to check but since she couldn't hear anything, she couldn't do anything about it.       Windridge (okay)

      I have been living in these apartments for 2yrs now and I am not very pleased with the ppl that live around me but I am pleased with the maintince and the office staff. There had been a break in right next door to my apartment and the guy that lived there was out of town. I called the apartments and a maintence guy came right over to check it out. He also stayed there with me until the cops showed up, which mind you it took them at the least 45mins to show up. The maintence is really good about fixing things in a timely manner and you always see them around helping ppl and making the aparments look nice by picking up trash and such. The gates are a mess, they are always broken and it takes them forever to fix them. There has been several notes on my door about breakins, which luckily hasn't happened to us(yet) but it doesn't seem like the apartment managment will do anything to prevent it from happening.         I lived in these apartments for 13 months. The rate was descent and I never had problems with maintenance. The office staff was okay, it can always be better, but where are you going to find the best personnel? The grounds could be modified and more picturesque. The main complaint I had when I was there was the construction and streets throughout the apartment.

          DO NOT MOVE HERE

          Windridge misled me about the first unit I moved into - which was right by I-30. The noise and vibrations kept me a zombie for 7 months. People from all over the city come to the pools to swim - large groups - and yell, scream, and create disturbances until the wee hours of the morning. I complained to the staff - who did nothing. The security is simply a truck that drives around... I have called the city police several times, but they are powerless to do anything. People in swimming trunks don't have IDs. The apt. staff knows about the problems - but hey, they don't live here - so either shut up or get stiffed and move out before your lease is up. I have felt threatened on several occasions - people come to my door and pretend to be salesmen...but can't present IDs...it seems as if criminals are scoping out the place. Luckily, my auto is old...so no one has stolen or vandalized it YET. Don't live here. No peace. No quiet. It has been hell.

            Can't wait to get out!

            If you want to feel safe do not move here! There is too much crime! I see a different car everyday with its windows broken out. I have heard gunshots on several different occasions, and have seen fights break out in the middle of the night in the parking lot! I have had to call the cops twice due to violent neighbors, and our cars have been vandalized. <br><br>Also... the pools suck! They seem to be open to the public. I have seen groups of children dropped off to do as they please with no supervision. You are only allowed a couple guests, well some people believe that entitles them to bring their cousins, cousins, cousins, and their children, and their dogs, and their 14 coolers! By the end of the day the pool is completely cloudy. Everyday. I know, its disgusting!!!<br><br>To top it off, the work out facility is a joke! The gates never work, and there is too much construction going on all of the time.               AVOID IF YOU CAN

              My fiancee and I moved in in May of 2006. The place definitely has it's ups and it's downs. Maintenance is amazing, and always fixes things as soon as possible. The grounds are pretty except for our "duck pond" which is actually a storm drain or something that I've seen ducks in once maybe. The gate and security are a joke. Someone in a black truck keeps ramming the gate and so currently 3 of 4 gates are broken open, and have been for weeks. The staff are doing nothing to find the guy who keeps doing it. They fix the gate, but don't change it to where it can't be broken. They fix it back to the way it was, and a few weeks later it is broken open again. The security just drives around and looks for people hiding. (As if someone who isn't supposed to be here is going to hide instead of looking like they belong here) Two of my fiancee's cars had the gas siphoned out of them.                 Depends on your definition of 'service'

                My husband and I have been here for too long. When we first got here, we had a second story apt. in phase I. It was alright. Nothing special. We moved to another place (1st floor phase II) and we were happier in the other apartment! The staff was interested in only getting our money when we signed the new contract. And make sure that you read that thing CAREFULLY! I had a friend go over it and see if there were any loopholes, but there really aren't. The safety issue.. well, I have heard the occasional gunshots. People yelling and hollaring at all hours of the night. You call the cops, they don't show up for about an hour. HOmes have been broken into. Someone tried that months ago, luckily I had my dog and she scared them away (made em pee their pants and everything) My husband's car was vandalized several times and broken into. The noise factor isn't too harsh. We are right beside I30 W and it can get noisy at times. But you do hear the 'fast cars' go by with their noisy mufflers.                   Not bad, but you get what you pay for

                  I moved in back in 2005, and considering my budget and the other places I had visited, I was reasonably pleased with what I got. I was getting more space and better kept grounds than the other options I was looking at.<br><br>My experience with the office staff has been generally pleasant so far. The staff even made good on a pre-sale misrepresentation on the part of a new employee.<br><br>I have never had difficulty finding a parking spot. However, parking isn't quite secure. My car window was busted and my cheap Wal-Mart CD player ripped out of the dash (I paid $200 to replace a window so someone could pawn off a 3-year-old stereo that cost $80 brand new) But I consider myself lucky. A guy around the corner had his entire car stolen. Thankfully the police found it after a few days, but it still speaks volumes about the security of this place.<br><br>We have Smith security driving around at night, but it doesn't seem to help much.                     NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                    Let me explain many reasons why i wouldn't move here. First reason is when they first showed my husband where we may potentially live, he really liked it. It was in the quiet part of windridge. THEN the day we moved in windridge was like "oh, we changeed your apartment" they ended up putting us in phase 2, apartment number 1101. We were put literally right next to the highway. I called them and they said "oh when your lease is up in seven months we can switch your apartment." well thanx alot. So for seven months we had to listen to cars on 30 west. We lived literally right next to highway 30. We had to keep a fan running just to zone out the noise.<br><br>Secondly, our lease is up and were moving tomorrow!!! I'm so excited. They gave us a list of things we have to give back to them. One of them is the parking pass. They never gave us a parking pass. Yet now we have to pay $25.00 for each parking pass.                       Major liability exposure

                      I am a current resident of the Phase #1 portion of the complex and must admit there have been several symptoms/ concerns that I have personally excperienced, however yesterday was the deal breaker for me.<br>At approximately 3:30 in the afternoon as I was working in my kitchen area, I heard someone attempting to unlock my door. I had the deadbold on as a safety precaution. I looked through the peep hole and saw an individual attempting to unlock my door. I unlocked the door and greeted the couple with a request as to what I might do to help them.                         Crime

                        When I first moved into this complex I was fairley happy withit. I overlooked the small maintence issuse and the thin walls. Erin the leasing manager was very nice and helpful. The rest of the staff changed quite frequently... I started hearing about cars been brooken into and so I moved to a different side of the complex that seemed a little more secure.. but in the long run lets just say I got GOT!!! I went to work one morning and when I came home that evening I went to put my key in the door and it was already open. When I walked in my APT I noticed my big TV was missing as well as quite few other expensive things and my bed room was RAMShacked!!!!!! I called the after hours number for windridge, I called the security and I called the police and the only people that came out was the police. They took my statments and made some notes.                           I like living here

                          I have lived at Windridge since 2003 and have not had any problems. There have been minor repairs that needed to be fixed in my apt but they have always been fixed promptly. I rarely hear my neighbors. All of my friends are shocked at how much cheaper my rent is compared to theirs at different complexes and how many more activities my complex has.

                            Looking forward to leaving

                            I have been happy for the past couple months that our lease is up because I can't wait to leave here. I haven't felt safe since someone tried to steal my car. The gate is almost never closed, and you get mixed answers from the leasing staff when you ask about it. All the lights at the entrance from 19th are now gone, so it's hard to see when coming in. I have cracks in the walls in each room, and I can easily hear my neighbors' music. The parking lot is not maintained, the pavement is cracking all over the place. It's reasonably priced, but I'm willing to pay more to have a better place.

                              Think Carefully

                              I'm just now writing this review because it took me almost a year to calm down enough to be able to write a sane review about a deplorable situation. My husband and I moved to this apartment in October 2005 because we thought it was a safer location than our previous apartment on 360. We were wrong. We should have thought something was up when during the month we visited before moving in the gates never worked. We were given several different prices and told we would move into several different apartments until the day we signed our lease. We were unable to contact the electricity company to set up electricity in our name until the day before we moved because we did not have a unit. The agent we initially talked to was very nice and helpful, but when we went to look at the apartment we had to work with a young lady who was new and clueless.                                 Disappointing

                                My husband and I thought that it was a great deal and we would be in a good neighborhood and apartment complex. We were mistaken. We have good neighbors, but have not been satisfied with the whole experience. The walls are very thin, and we have heard multiple parties in our apartment from an apartment across the complex. We have even had to call security because it was so loud and 3am. The gates are never closed. My husbands tires were stolen 3 weeks after we bought his truck. The gate was broken for at least a month and a half before and was not repaired until recently. When my husband asked about the gate, he was told that it was struck by lighting. He was also told that it was his problem about his truck and that he should have insurance, which we do. I find it hard to believe that they do not have insurance for the gate and that they can not fix the gate in a timely fashion.                                       The price was good, I lived right under neath my sister and that was great. Management I had no problems with, the accountant I had issues with, and from what I understand I was not the first one to have a run in with her. When I first moved in, my fault I bounced a check to them. So I can understand that they wanted money orders. I get a knock at the door that they had not received my rent, I STRESSED OUT!!! Come to find out since SHE stated she would research it, then I called her to find out what she knew, to only be told that I could be evicted if my rented didn't get paid. I went to the bank, and they bank with Bank of America, and they did cash my money order, and it was credited to someone else's apartment. MAKE SURE YOU GET A RECEIPT WHEN YOU DROP OFF YOUR RENT, OR CALL THEM THE NEXT DAY TO MAKE SURE SOMEONE HAS SEEN IT. maintence staff is lazy too.

                                        Tenet Beware

                                        I moved here on the recomendation from someone (not only on Windridge as a complex, but also on Lincoln PC as a good management company) in early '05 without the foresight to check the crime statistics or the problems residents have faced with management, etc. Turns out it was a big mistake. The apartments seem decent from the outside, but lets get down to it. Erin was more than helpful in getting my name on the lease all while rushing me to sign without reading when I had to make several corrections that were changed from the original lease. However the rest of the office staff as well as Erin would like nothing mor than to pack the complex. There is little if no parking in some area's of the complex and nothing is availible as far as covered parking. The pool is closed every monday of every week for some type of cleaning, but I have yet to see anyone out cleaning it even on my days off. Maintenance staff is good and very prompt when they are reachable at the service number, but not after 6pm because Windridge's 24 hour service is a really bad joke. Gates are… See More>

                                          Good Apts -Worth the money

                                          Managment was friendly-very helpful<br>Great pools/ hot tub always hot :)<br>WOrkout faciltiy is ok- nothing special<br>Plenty of parking- no problems<br>ok maitenance- needs a little improving- but no major complaints- <br>acceptable laundry units in complex- when they needed repairing they were repaired quickly- but the units are small- we went up the street to a laundry facility to do more at once<br>cheap apartments- get what you pay for- <br>but they are not very big- i think the bigest is a 700sq ft (two bedrooms)<br>had a few problems with neighbors- the ones near us had parties every now and then<br>the ones in the building across from us- the cops did an undercover bust- but other than that the apts are great<br><br>has a great pound- nice ducks- lots of fish and turtles, my friend and i went down there daily for hours feeding the turtles, we loved it. <br><br>we moved due to sq.footage. great apt. for one. <br>

                                            NOISEY

                                            NOISEY, noisey. People from other surrounding apartments use the pool all the time. It's like it is a public city pool! (The one by the office is!) Maintenance is quick about "fixing" the problem. It is usually a band-aid fix. Apartment flooded, thank goodness I was there. I had to move my entire bedroom in minutes before all was ruined by water. (maintence was there when the flooding started to happen) Parking is bad. Tennants and their visiting friends do not care whose car they bang into. Neighbors leave trash all over the patio & we have to walk through it and the nasty smell. Complain about it all the time and nothing happens. Security gates a joke. If it is working at all. Wait a minute and someone will come through that doesn't belong. They will let you in! Or wait a minute and you can slide through. Been there almost 4 years and used my gate pass maybe a dozen times. Don't really need one even in the middle of the night.

                                                Dissappointed

                                                I moved into these apartments with high hopes but have been dissappointed. The office staff is great, the maintenance of the grounds is super BUT my neighbors are awful. Small children out running around (screaming) until 11:30 pm, upstair neighbors sound like their building an addition to their apartment every night, and next door neighbors are smoking pot on their patio. I'm hoping I'll be able to break my lease and find better living conditions.
