"We sincerely apologize that your account was drafted for rent. However, draft payments are set up and managed by the resident, and the 3333 staff has no ability to initiate a draft from your bank account. It was brought to our attention by you in early March, 2016 that you had vacated the apartment in September, 2015. This is a period of 6 months during which you continued to pay rent and made no mention to the staff of an error in payment or that you had vacated. You have stated that you had provided written notice and keys. We have no record of receiving either and therefore we still showed the apartment as occupied by you up until the day you notified us in March. You stated that you had given notice in July, 2015 to an employee of 3333 who had not worked at the community since March, 2015. Your rent payments continued to arrive to us from your bank, and the utilities also remained in your name through most of January, 2016. It is recommended that any resident providing written notice to an apartment community acquire written acknowledgement from the community that the notice was received and approved. We respectfully maintain that our staff made no errors in the handling of your account."
