I lived at Alief Square from June 2003 until June 2005. I moved because I found a cheaper place less than 1 mile away. I was paying $480 for a one bedroom apartment and management told us that the owner wanted to start billing for water so I decided to look around. i found a couple different places where I could get a one bedroom apt for about $100 less and where water would not be billed. I also got 2 months free when I moved in at the new place. Well biy did i ever make a mistake. I now understand why Alief Square is more expensive. At Alief, i took for granted my new AC (all units got new ACs when the big renovation was done a year ago). I think all the roofs were replaced also but am not 100% sure. My electric bill at the new place is almost always at least $200. At Alief it was never more than $100 even when it was in the high 90 degrees outside. Also Alief has a money back guaranteed maintenance program where they guarantee that the fix stuff in 48 hours or they pay you back your daily rent! At the new place, I wait days for a maintenance guy to even come look at the problem let alone fix it. Also at the new place, I have yet to see the pools be open. At Alief I have never seen them closed aside from when they are actually being cleaned. When my lease expires, I will be moving back to Alief Square. I was sad to Laura leave the office but I hear the new manager is nice too. Marco is an outstanding maintenance guy.
