Resident 2006 - 2007 Not Recommended

I moved into the Bel Air late last year. I rented the apartment sight-unseen because I was moving from out of state and the web site was so gorgeous. The exterior of the building looks great and the rental office and main lobby are grand. Then they take you to your apartment. The hallways look "institutional" and you have to leave a bread-crumb trail to find your way back outside. It's definitely a fire trap. The apartment is $1600 per month and is NOTHING special. The carpet, vinyl flooring (imitation hardwood?), and appliances are the cheapest in the world and the layout means a lot of wasted space. I live on a courtyard and it's very noisy due to people on their balconys having parties. You can hear everything that is going on in the apartment above - talking, running water, flushing the toilet. There must be no isulation between the walls and floors. The building is so poorly engineered that there's no way for a moving van to get anywhere near an elevator. It took all day for my movers to unload because they had to park on the street and transport every item up the driveway, through the parking garage, and up the tiny elevator. There are no freight elevators. There is no on-site security no matter what they tell you. If you have a security issue at night or on weekends, the answering service tells you to call the police. The place is awful and I cannot wait for my lease to be up.
