I have lived at the Belmont for one year in 2009 and again in 2017-2018. The experience is night and day (and not in a good way). If nothing goes wrong with your apartment -- it still might be a good place to live, but this apartment complex has aged in the 8 years since I have last lived here. Things will probably break and then it quickly becomes a hassle to go back and forth with the front desk on everything. Pros: the location. It is convenient, safe, close to Rice University (for students) and literally next door to HEB (a grocery store). Cons: Management is not customer-oriented and takes AGES to get any non-standard issue resolved. I have lived here for almost one-year and have not had a working water-meter. This results in you being "auto-billed" at a rate that is determined fair by the Belmont (regardless of actual usage). I end up paying ~$20/month over and there's nothing I can do about it. There is also a mosquito infestation due to a broken pipe near my front door. I raised this issue with management in November 2017 and it still has not been resolved as of April 2018. I was told that the corporate office had to approve a simple PVC pipe replacement.
